▫️We use a comprehensive record of individual financial transactions provided by a large Spanish multinational bank to construct a consumption survey at scale. Our consumption measures track official data well at the aggregate level, but also allow a much more fine-grained analysis of consumption patterns with respect to individual observables which we illustrate with several applications.
