Our Founding Fathers would never just blown up Venezuelan pirates smuggling illicit contraband into the United States without a trial!
. . . . they wouldβve just issued letters of marque and let everyone get in on the action.

β I know that my Redeemer lives,
Glory, Hallelujah!
What comfort this sweet sentence gives,
Glory, Hallelujah!
Chorus:
Shout on, pray on, weβre gaining ground,
Glory Hallelujah!
The deadβs alive, and the lost is found,
Glory Hallelujah!
He lives to bless me with His love;
Glory Hallelujah!
He lives to plead my cause above;
Glory Hallelujah!
(Chorus)
He lives to crush the fiends of hell;
Glory Hallelujah!
He lives and doth within me dwell;
Glory Hallelujah! β

βThe Passing of Robin Hoodβ (1917), by the American illustrator and painter N.C. Wyeth.
It originally appeared in an illustrated edition of the Legend of Robin Hood.
In the painting we see Robin Hoodβs final moments before his death. You can see how his closest companions are already mourning him. One of them props him up, so that Robin Hood can fire one final arrow out of the window. Theyβve agreed that where the arrow lands, he will be buried.
Itβs a beautiful image, sad, but noble.
