Outdoor Ethiopia in Batu

Outdoor Ethiopia was in Batu for a three day visit during this year's epiphany. Our crew drove out and observed a mesmerizing Cuuphaa (Epiphany). The worshippers sat on the shores of Lake Dambal receiving blessings of the clergy.

Following this, our team went on a boat ride flanked by the many beautiful canoes of the eager laity. The day came to an end when we camped on the island of Galila by a campfire enjoying scintillating conversations. Finally, we went on a tour of Batu town to mingle with the residents as they went about the merrymakings of the holiday.

Outdoor was able to engage with a wide network along with the Oromia Tourism Commission and other stakeholders as to how we can capture the need to promote spiritual tourism and destinations of pilgrimage. Outdoor is looking forward to the multiple opportunities Batu holds and is grateful to OTC for the opportunities we were afforded during this trip.

From the trip with #Bifle_Promotion
Outdoor Ethiopia joined social media influencers and other participants on a boat ride across #Lake_Dambal as invitees of Oromia Tourism Commission. The modern recreational boats were rented from #Travel 251, which ensured the delivery of these modern vessels for an exhilarating journey on water. With a view to attend to the growing need for water tourism, Outdoor Ethiopia intends to host a #boat_rowing tournament exercise in the near future.

The Outdoors for the Horsemen and the Stallions

On recently cleared crop fields outside the town of #Sandafa, Outdoor Ethiopia joined thousands as they attended the Sandafa Horse Festival. The festival showcased people dressed in colorful cultural outfits and horses decorated with elaborate tacks as they went about doing some of the coolest equestrian acrobatics. The skills displayed by the horsemen throughout the event was something to behold, as was the dancing and traditional cuisine participants were treated to. Horses are an important animal in the Shoan highlands and Outdoor Ethiopia plans to explore this heritage in some of our future activities.
