🟦The #Index_of_Eight_Core_Industries (ICI) is prepared every month and released by the Office of the Economic Adviser (OEA), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), and Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
🏭The ICI measures the combined and individual performance of production of eight core industries viz:
Coal,
Crude Oil,
Natural Gas,
Refinery Products,
Fertilizers,
Steel,
Cement and
Electricity.
🟨The Eight Core Industries comprise 40.27 percent of the weight of items included in the #Index_of_Industrial_Production
(IIP) --- which is published monthly by the Central Statistical Organisation (CSO)
