The three-day training on Startup, Commercialization, and Intellectual Property Rights concluded today at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU). The training was provided to innovators, students, and experts to enhance their understanding of patents and copyrights.
Each day of the training focused on one of the three key topics: startup development, commercialization, and intellectual property rights.

Research Ethics Training for Researchers

Addis Ababa Science and Technology University conducted a two-round Research Ethics Training for researchers, focusing on the publication process, authorship responsibilities, research ethics and integrity, and scientific paper retraction.
The first round of training was led by Dr. Solomon Binor, who provided insights into the ethical considerations of academic publishing. The second round was conducted by Dr. Habib Mohammed, the Head of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Center of Excellence at AASTU, who emphasized the need for ethical awareness in conducting novel research.
The training highlighted the critical role of research integrity in maintaining the credibility of scientific publications. Participants explored key topics such as the responsibilities of authors—including the first author, corresponding author, and co-authors—ensuring originality, obtaining co-author approvals, and adhering to ethical guidelines.
