⭕️IMO Ship Recycling Rules Set for 2025 Enforcement

🔸The Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships will enter into force on 26 June 2025, aiming to enhance global maritime safety and environmental protection.

🔸 All end-of-life vessels must carry an Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM), and authorised recycling yards must prepare a Ship-Specific Recycling Plan under strict IMO guidelines.

🔸 With Bangladesh, India, and Türkiye among the key parties, the convention ensures safe ship dismantling across the maritime sector and marks a major step towards sustainable maritime industry practices.

⭕️Iran Envoy Urges IMO to Condemn Assassination of Martyred Seafarer

🔸Iran’s Ambassador to the IMO has called on the organisation to formally condemn the killing of Iranian maritime officer Hamed Saber and his family in a June 23 Israeli airstrike.

🔸The strike hit a residential area in Astaneh Ashrafieh, far from any military facility, killing twelve civilians, including Saber, a senior official in Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organisation.

🔸Iran’s representative described the act as deliberate terrorism and a violation of international law, urging IMO to take a clear stand.

🔸مدیرکل بندر و دریانوردی خرمشهر به مناسبت فرا رسیدن روز جهانی دریانورد، با حضور در اسکله‌های بندر خرمشهر، ضمن دیدار و گفت‌وگو با دریانوردان مستقر در این مجتمع بندری، از زحمات و تلاش‌های بی وقفه آنان تقدیر کرد.

🔸علی عسکری مدیر کل بندر و دریانوردی خرمشهر به مناسبت فرا رسیدن روز جهانی دریانورد، با حضور در اسکله‌های بندر خرمشهر، ضمن دیدار و گفت‌وگو با دریانوردان مستقر در این مجتمع بندری، از زحمات و تلاش‌های بی وقفه آنان تقدیر کرد.

🔸عسکری در این دیدار، روز جهانی دریانوردی را به تمامی دریانوردان تبریک گفت و به رسم قدردانی، یک شاخه گل به آنان اهدا کرد.

🔸وی در سخنان خود با تأکید بر اهمیت بی‌بدیل نقش دریانوردان در توسعه حمل و نقل دریایی و رشد اقتصادی کشور، گفت: دریانوردان با فداکاری و تلاش‌های شبانه‌روزی خود، در بهبود و گسترش مبادلات تجاری و اقتصادی کشور نقشی حیاتی ایفا می‌کنند.
