Questions to ask yourself to rethink your life goals. 🤔

Many of us sometimes feel like we're not living our own lives, and everything we do seems uninteresting and meaningless. How do you know if you're on the right path?

Who do I want to be?
Understanding that life is not endless helps you focus on what you want. You finally start living to the fullest and giving 100%, despite fears and prejudices. If you're doing something that goes against your values, or something you'll regret later, come up with a plan to change your life. Be patient and persistent, as changes take time.

Why do I need this?
Do you want your parents to be proud of your career, or was your life choice influenced by peer pressure? Is the life you lead yours or someone else's?
A few more questions:
Does my job bring me joy? Does it give my life meaning?
Do thoughts of work inspire me or upset me?
What do I want to gain from the outside world?
How do I want to feel?

How do I feel?
In a crazy world, people often forget about health for the sake of money and career. Ask yourself: do I consider myself a top priority? Start by optimizing your diet. You'll have more energy, become more productive, and improve your quality of life.

How do I want to be remembered?
If you assume that you won't be here tomorrow, what can you say about the life you've lived? Are you satisfied with it? I know the question seems strange and grim, but such reflections bring clarity to life and help focus on the benefit you can bring to people.

🏠 Righteous and Guilty 🏠

In neighboring houses live two different families. One is always arguing, while the other always maintains peace and mutual understanding.

One day, envying the peace in the neighbor's family, the wife says to her husband:

"Go to the neighbors and see what they do that makes everything go well for them."
He went, hid, and observed. He sees the woman cleaning the floors in the house when something distracted her, and she ran to the kitchen. At that moment, her husband urgently needed to enter the house. He didn't notice the bucket of water, bumped into it, and spilled the water.

Then the wife came, apologized to her husband, and said:

"Sorry, dear, it's my fault."

"No, you forgive me, I'm to blame."

...The man became upset and went home. At home, his wife asked:

"Well, did you see?"

"Yes!"

"So, what?"

"I understand everything! We are ALWAYS RIGHT, and they are ALWAYS GUILTY."

📚 Why Study? A Parable on the Purpose of Learning

👨‍🏫 "I have given you knowledge, but happiness everyone must find for themselves," said the teacher to the graduating students.

😕 "Teacher, happiness always fades quickly," someone objected.

😊 "There is one inexhaustible source of happiness in the world. Those who find it are happy all their lives," replied the teacher.

👋 The students bid farewell and promised to return in three years to tell the teacher about their quests.

Time flew by.

📝 The first student didn't return, only sending a letter to the teacher:

📬 "I have found the source of happiness—it's power. I am successfully climbing the ladder of power and hope to reach its top step."

📝 The second student also sent a note to the teacher: "The source of happiness is wealth."

📝 The third student didn't send anything, but it was told to the teacher that he became a strong warrior and left with the army to conquer another country. "Apparently, my student decided to conquer his happiness through force," thought the teacher sadly.

🔄 Only the fourth student returned to the teacher and told him that he became a healer. "I traveled the Earth, healing people. People rejoiced and became happier. If you bring happiness to people, it will always be with you," said the student.

👨‍🎓 "You have understood the main thing, my student," the teacher said joyfully. "The inexhaustible source of happiness is the desire to do good. The more a person draws from such a source, the happier they become."

🌟 The Truth 🌟

👴 In the east, there lived a wise man who taught his students thus:

💬 "People insult in three ways. They may say you are stupid, they may call you a slave, they may call you talentless. If this happens to you, remember a simple truth: only a fool calls another a fool, only a slave seeks a slave in another, only a talentless justifies what they don't understand with another's madness."

🌼 Happiness is the Journey 🛣️

We often think life will be better when we turn 18, get married, land the perfect job, have our first child, then the second... 🤔

Later, we feel exhausted as our children grow slowly, and we believe we'll be happy when they are grown. As they become teenagers and it's tough to get along, we await the day they mature to make things easier. 🌱

Then we say our life will get better when we finally buy a bigger house, a better car, go on vacation, or retire... 🏠🚗

The truth is, there is no better time to be happy than now. If not now, then when?

It seems life is always about to begin, the real life! But there's always one problem, one unfinished task, one unpaid debt that needs resolving before life can start. Upon closer inspection, we realize these problems are endless and they make up life itself. 🔄

This realization helps us see that there is no way to happiness; happiness is the way. We must cherish each moment, especially when shared with someone special, and remember that time waits for no one.

Don't wait for school to end, college to start, to lose five kilos, for the kids to go to school, get married, or get divorced, for the New Year, spring, autumn, or winter, for next Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, or for the moment you die to be happy. 🎉

Happiness is the path, not the destination. 🌿

Work as if you don't need the money, love as if you've never been hurt, and dance as if no one is watching. 💃🕺💖

🪨 The Parable of the Stone

👑 Once a king decided to test the capabilities of his subjects. He ordered a huge stone to be brought and placed across the road. Then he hid and watched how people would behave.

🚶‍♂️ People walked by, trying various ways to go around the stone, cursing the king, complaining that he didn't care about removing the obstacle from their path. The king observed.

🛤️ Then, a peasant approached in a cart pulled by oxen. He saw the stone on the road, an obstacle not only for him but for everyone. Despite cursing the king, he unhitched the oxen, placed planks under the stone, tied it with ropes, and with incredible effort, he moved it aside. To his surprise, beneath the stone lay a purse of gold. The peasant picked it up and found a note inside: "This is a reward for those who overcome obstacles." 🌟

How Psychologists Deal with Overwhelm 🧠

Use the "eat the elephant" rule. 🐘
If you're overwhelmed by a big task and can't get started, try breaking it down into smaller steps. "This significantly eases the task, and most importantly, you see immediate results! It's like being asked to eat an elephant. Clearly, you could only do it by cutting it into small steaks."

Breathe deeply. 🌬️
This is one of the oldest calming techniques in the world and one of the most effective. A few deep breaths help activate the part of the nervous system responsible for slowing the heartbeat and lowering blood pressure. Focused deep breathing can temporarily distract you from your problems.

Allow yourself to feel negative emotions. 😢
The temptation to shake off a bad mood and immediately suppress negative emotions is strong, but it can be harmful. Instead, therapists advise allowing yourself to experience all the emotions that arise. "Don't force your feelings to be quiet; instead, ask yourself what's happening."

Go for a walk. 🚶‍♀️
Just step outside for some fresh air. Ideally, head out of town to a park or at least a local square, but even a short walk down your street can be beneficial. The key is to focus on the walk. Turn off your phone, don't rush anywhere, and enjoy the process of walking. 🌿
