What is your answer to "How much bitcoin do you have?"

I have been asked this by friends and acquaintances countless times over the years. I have yet to tell anyone how much bitcoin I have. If I did happen to have some, I wouldn't be telling anyone.

Don't give me a hard time with this question.

I'm an old man in my 70's. About 10 years ago I bought a few bitcoin and have never touched them. I want to cash them in and do the cocaine and Hooker thing, only kidding. Everyone is telling me don't sell it now because it's going up. Every year I look at it it goes up. If I don't spend it soon I'll be too old and my kids will get it. Don't want to do that I say with laughter. What do you say? Some now, some for later?

My Ex Stole My Bitcoin

Honestly coming here to see if this has happened to anyone else. I’m actually still in shock and can’t believe it.

My wife and I separated last month. She took our children, didn’t come home, and wouldn’t let my kids stay with me at our house. We had a trip planned with the family that she’d bailed after she left the house. I still chose to go travel alone. She made it clear we were separated, didn’t want to repair, and that I couldn’t see the children unless she said so. I felt like I had nothing to lose and went out to FL alone. She tracked my phone and found out I was staying at a chicks house.

I came back home 4 days later and she’d moved out. We discussed putting the house on the market, how to coparent, etc…Well when I went to go look for my wallet I noticed it was missing. I needed to sell some bitcoin to get my own place and buy a new car. I asked if she was in my bag cause she’s the only one who knows I even own Bitcoin.

She confirmed what I was looking for by telling me the seed phrase and said I shouldn’t have went to FL🤷🏽‍♂️
It was my life’s savings, all the money I put for our kids, and my end game plan. So now I’m going through a separation with nothing and have to start completely over. I was feeling confident and secure cause I had so much bitcoin that I didn’t even have to really work. I get some we could argue belonged to the family. But to take the hardware wallet while I was away and try to hide it. I’m lost for words.

How many people on this sub Run their own Nodes?

Seems like very few that goes into this far. If you do self custody, please do yourself a favor and run your own nodes.

Running your own node means you verify Bitcoin yourself. You don’t have to trust others, you keep your privacy, and you strengthen the network.

If you don't run your own nodes, say you use trezor safe 3 with it's suite, you're relying to see your BTC on their nodes not your own. Sure you can trust their nodes, but isn't this all we want? maximum sovoreignty? then you shall run your own nodes to verify that your bitcoin is real and unspent.

Watch Bitcoin University video on how to run one, or Bitcoinnotcrypto video about it, btcsession have detailed guide about it too.

It's very easy to setup, and simple.

Hardwares that you need is simply: Working computer (could be work machine or spare, mac, Rasbery, Linux, Windows), Free storage 1-2tb & Stable internet

Very very worth it!!!!

Do more research about it yourself and study why it's VERY important.

BTC influencer space really needs a clean up

There are too many bullshitrs and wafflers in this space. British hodl, Brandon gentile and his 'guests'. It's pure junk content. There's a plethora of these talking heads. The BTC influencer space really needs a clean up, it will lose credibility.
