UK bank refused a cash withdrawal!! Time to stack.
So I've experienced something made me feel worry like I've never felt. I went to a UK bank HSBC to withdraw £4,000. When asked what I was using it for, me being me, I replied "because that is my hard earned money and I'd rather have it on my person."
I know, if I told them upfront what I was buying they most likely wouldn't have had an issue, but I feel like I don't owe them an explanation on what I'm purchasing with my money which I allow them to bank (and use for investments)
They said it was to protect me, but I find it outrageous that this is even a thing. It has really shaken me to the core, I've always had a lot of trust in banks (Especially UK banks!) All these years thinking my money is safe, but then it got me thinking, if everyone went to take their money out in a crisis, would they be able to?
I had to speak to a manager, to confirm what I was going to use the money for, otherwise it was going to be a pain in the arse to withdraw.
So I'm going to start saving in Bitcoin, because that seemingly is the only place you can keep money and not have it be devalued with inflation or kept from you in times of need. Anyone else had a similar experience?
EDIT: Thanks for some of the posts, it's quite insightful.
Maybe I am overreacting, but I guess it's valid to feel a certain way when something you don't expect happens, especially when it feels like someone is trying to withhold your money from you.

Never sell your Bitcoin.
I think we are entering a new phase, no more 4 year cycle, no more charts , all we have to do is hodl, anyone who knows anything about Bitcoin it's never been a get rich quick scheme, I'm buying to hold for the next 20 years, as we all should be, just never sell your Bitcoin, get loans against it, play around with stable coins and meme coins, and be ready to dump profit from that to buy more Bitcoin. Every day owning Bitcoin is a good day.
