Huge Pistons fan, just moved near the Detroit area, looking to watch some games with local fans. None of the people I know are really into sports or they are really just Lions and Redwings fans.

Anyone interested in starting a meetup group for Pistons games?

Possibly create some new friendships along the way. We can go to a sports bar or something and cheer our boys on loud and proud.

All ages welcome, I'm in my mid 30s.

Offseason talk ( Knicks)

Question what’s yall thoughts on the Knicks offseason moves. I was listening to a podcast earlier and I didn’t realize how much better the Knicks got. Upgraded their backup 4 with Yabusele , Jordan Clark gives them a solid scorer off the bench now with size, and then you bring in Brodgan who is a solid backup PG something they lacked badly last year. Also a healthy Mitchell who might start at Center and move Kat to the 4. These were sneaky moves that made them 5x better than they were. Hopefully we can resign Beasley

Last roster spot

Should we be interested in Kevin love if he gets bought out? He will add much needed size to our bench and he can still shoot it. I know he’s a liability on defense but at this point to fill the last roster spot I think he could be worth it bc of his size and shooting

What role do you envision Ron Holland playing this season?

Training camps are opening up league wide pretty soon! Exciting times ahead of an exciting season for the Pistons. An exciting time for Detroit sports fans with how good the Lions and Tigers are as well.

Talking about excitement, there's a lot of it surrounding Ron Holland in season two after he had an outstanding Summer League in Vegas. He did exactly what you want to see a guy in his scenario do which is stand out above the crowd. He popped and he brings skills this Pistons team could use with the cutting and ability to create rim pressure out of closeouts and in transition. If he can make his threes, he's gonna be really valuable this season to this ballclub.

I wanna know what role you all envision Ron playing this year? Do you think his offensive responsibility could potentially increase? Do you think he can get more minutes with the starters? You see him playing more than 15 minutes a game this year? A similar role to last year that performs better in?

Can the Pistons realistically bring back Beasley this offseason?

Detroit and Beasley seem interested in a reunion. He’s cleared the eviction case, moved back to his apartment downtown, and publicly seems open to returning.

Still, Detroit’s roster changes (new wings like Caris LeVert, Duncan Robinson, Javonte Green) plus cap limitations could make it tough to offer him the role or money he’d want.

If even with everything cleared, Beasley’s return isn’t a no‑brainer, what kind of contract makes sense for both sides?

Reducing turnovers this season should be a priority.

With the loss of Dennis Schroder and the return of Jaden Ivey, turnovers could end up being a thorn in the side of the Pistons this year. Ivey is likely to take over the reigns as the backup ballhandler in a co-share with Caris LeVert in that role. LeVert is a solid passer and is low turnover...he's not a super high leverage passer but he is sound and has decent vision.

Jaden has vision but is still a shaky decision maker. Cade's turnover rate isn't as bad as I think it's often assumed to be but 16% is still a little bit too high a number. He can be very careless and he can overdribble. He doesn't always play with enough tempo and will allow a defense to trap him. Duren is also very turnover prone for his role...he gets ahead of himself as a passer, or will be a beat too late in making a read and get a pass stolen. He has improved as playing under control, but the processing isn't always there for him yet.

Schroder didn't shoot well for the Pistons but one thing he brought to the table was a calming presence on the floor. His net rating for the Pistons was a plus even though his individual metrics were poor. I think having a guy who can run offense, who can create for others and draw defenses and did so without being mistake prone, even though Dennis himself can get very dribble happy, is something the Pistons did get value out of down the stretch.

They're going to need their young guys to step up this decision to improve their turnover rate (21st) and AST/TO ration (20th). They were 14th in the playoffs of 16. There are very few teams that have winning records with below average AST/TO ratios. That is one of the most durable barometers of team success. The Pistons beat the odds last season and are likely to do so again but this is something that will limit their ceiling as a team if it can't be corrected. Their ability to generate extra possessions on the offensive boards/etc. makes up for it, but to be their best selves as a team the turnover rate must be reduced this year. Do you think it will be?

I really wish we could find a way to get Sasser some minutes.

The title is definitely an unpopular opinion. I feel like when Marcus Sasser gets traded during the deadline, or becomes a URFA, he will find a home and he will start balling out, and it’ll be bittersweet to Pistons fans. I don’t care that he doesn’t much play defense. Or facilitates all that much. He provides something we need in a pinch: shooting.

The more shooters we have, the better. Chaz (if he even makes the initial roster) is more unproven than Sasser. Sasser has started a handful of games last year and played really well. Injuries do happen. Yes, we have a lot of guards, and if Beasley comes in, it’ll only be another guard, but I’d rather keep Sasser than rely on a rookie to take Sasser’s role. Feel free to disagree.

Does anyone else think Telegraph Road by Dire Straits should be a theme song at Pistons games?

I was listening to this song a day ago and realized how much this song embodies the Pistons. The lyrics are obviously talking about the many high and low points Detroit went through throughout the 20th century.

I can’t help but think this reflects our journey as an NBA club as well. We went from extreme heights to extreme lows, but we’re still clawing our way back from the grave. Just wanted to get your guys’ thoughts on this.

Maybe signing keon Johnson instead of beasly if his situation doesn't work out.

Here me out ik we want beasly but if we can't get em I think the next best move is trying to go for neon Johnson since the Brooklyn nets waived him.hes a decent role-playing, hes 23 so he has room to grow. Id just think it be better than going out and doing something stupid if we can't get beasly.
