MarJon Beauchamp waived by Portland today. Get him?

Should we give him a try?
The Blazers signed him a week ago and waved him today.
I’ve been intrigued by his game a while.
If he’s in the right situation with the best shooting coach in the league, I think that could work wonders for his career.

Are we one of the deeper teams in the league when fully healthy?

*I know it was one preseason game and the Grizzlies didn't play their stars*

I always kind of thought this team had solid depth last season. They were able to survive most of the season without Ivey, Ausar has had his issues the past two years, and then Stewart got hurt late and we still took the Knicks to six games.

Watching the highlights from the game: A lot of the G-League guys and younger bench guys have come along way since the end of the 2023 season. I think it speaks a lot to the way the franchise is developing guys, especially and mostly our guard rotation. While Sasser obviously is not a perfect player, I think he's a great example of someone who's grown a ton in the franchise since his rookie season. Jenkins is another guard who I think has made considerable strides via the G-League and then in spot minutes during last season. I think he could actually step in and help this team if someone went down.

This isn't even to mention what Lanier brings to the table: He's as pure a shooter as I've seen coming out of the college ranks. While he lacks in many other facets of his game (defense, slightly undersized for a two), he could actually be someone who long term has a place in the league because of his primary trait: He can burn it.

Overall, we're still missing some frontcourt depth. But Paul Reed is serviceable and Tolu Smith seems to be coming along, although he's probably a career journeyman. I have a hard time thinking that this team wouldn't be able to stay afloat with an injury or two especially after all the experience of last season and the free agent additions. If you add all of this with Ivey making a leap and Cade just adding to his star-level play, I have a hard time thinking this team can't hang with almost anyone in the Eastern Conference.

I just think the way that JB gets the guys to play and the way the franchise has had a culture shift the past 18 months that everyone is always ready to play. Pumped for the season!

Ausar/Ron/Stew First Takes

What a great start to the preseason!
Ausar and Ron Holland are clearly going to turn defense into instant offense. This is amazing! And with Stew stepping out on the wing, there’s a new twist to this upcoming season.
I’ve campaigned for Cade to start taking more of a bully stance, using his size and strength to make plays through contact. Bringing him up off of screens will make it easier getting looks around the basket.
Finally - Ausar Thompson running the offense with Ron Holland, Stew, and Duncan will be great.
More to come!

New Fan, What should i know?

After a long time of not having a team, i decided to sit down and watch games and Highlights from all teams.

The Pistons were the ones who stood out to me. The players, history and playstyle all appealed to me. (And of course the insane turn around last season)

So i wanted to ask some Fans on what i should know to become a real part of the fandom.

Who are thoseeee?!?! Give me some info on these forgotten legends.

Sick, COVID, so bored. I was looking at previous Pistons rosters and writing down any player whose face I could not picture. I have no idea who they are. Couldn't even tell you the position. Any mega experts out there that can tell me anything about these lost and forgotten who knows who's? Cuz I sure haven't heard of any of them.
