Things I noticed tonight that I loved include: Duren and Stew's post moves, Ron's shooting/attacking the rim, Ausar's usual ridiculous defense, terrific passing in the open floor and his shot creation. Even Javonte Green, Bobbi, and Chaz looked comfortable in their roles. And you gotta love Danis.

Out of 10, rate your level of trust in Chaz Lanier and Marcus Sasser as a potential rotation player at the outset of the season with Jaden Ivey out

You all saw the news. It's terrible. Jaden Ivey having microscopic knee injury and re-evaluated in 4 weeks.

Although this isn't directly related to his broken leg last season, we know that compounding issues can occur after a player suffers a traumatic injury. It can leave them vulnerable to other issues as they're returning to normal activity.

Jaden is gonna be really important this season for the Pistons with the absences of THJ and (likely) Bradley. Obviously he plays a different kind of role but his shooting numbers were very encouraging, and he was due to return to that secondary creator role next to Cade that this team turned to Schroder last season to fill.

Now he's out and as it stands now, one of Lanier or Sasser will be a rotation player going into the season. Probably Sasser with the edge as a backup ballhandler, but they could go with Lanier and have Caris (EDIT: Of course Ausar potentially as well) come in with the bench as the backup ballhandler there. There obviously is a chance for an outside addition but one hasn't been made as it stands now.

How much do you trust Sasser and/or Lanier to get the job done in the rotation at the outset of the season? You think they'll be a weak spot, or do you think they can rise to the occasion?

I’m plan on taking my son to see one of his favorite non pistons this season. I’ve read the visiting team comes out of the tunnel under section 105. Is that accurate? If I buy seats in 104 by that tunnel will he have a chance for autographs? Thanks

Smith is a 20 yo PF (6'9") with a promising shot (38% in the G-League and 43% in the league as rookie...but on only 80 total attempts). It's probably worth holding onto the last roster spot for the deadline, but Smith would be an interesting dude to take a chance on. 33rd pick in the 2024 draft.
