I found a little chest at a store, it reminded me of GoodTimeWithScar’s season 7 chest monster shop.

Had a Thought After Watching Hermitcraft Win the Heartcrafter Award
This TwitchCon has made me realize just how much Scar has become a leader of Hermitcraft in many ways.
I know Xisuma is the server admin and is therefore probably the “leader” of the server in a more practical sense (I’d also throw JoeHills in here too since he was sort of the interim leader between genrikb’s departure and X taking the helm).
However, ever since the charity streams started, Scar has started to REALLY emerged as someone I see taking charge of a lot of offline-based Hermitcraft things.
I know everyone leads in their own way, but I thought of different facets hermits are leaders in and I thought I’d share:
Organizational Leader: Xisuma (see above)
Cultural Leader: JoeHills (He’s the OG hermit that kept the server alive until X took over. I think that means something, and his JoeHills Difference has influenced the server in a way that expands far beyond him.
Spokesperson/Philanthropic Leader: Scar
Creative Leader: Grian (all hermits are creative, but when it comes to server-wide things, I feel like Grian has had a hand in almost all major server events since he joined)
Technical Leader: TangoTek (He’s the best combo of communal and technical)
-
Those are the leadership spots I’ve thought up. If anyone else has ideas, feel free to share.
-
Hermits I DON’T think are leaders (DOES NOT MEAN THEY AREN’T IMPORTANT):
Doc and Zedaph: They strike me as the R&D Guys, sort of huddled away being innovators and coming up with crazy things to try out.
BDubs and CubFan: They’re very middle management-coded to me. Never really taking a leadership position himself, but always surrounding themselves with the leaders and pitching ideas to them and the group to make things better, AND stepping up on occasion.
Impulse and Skizz: They are like the HR guys. They step up to take care of everyone, but other than that they don’t step out to the forefront much other than that.
Zombie Cleo: She’s like an IT person. They’re good at one specific thing and they’re the go-to for that ONE thing and if they’re not there that one important thing crumbles (I think they’re the quintessential underrated hermit).
Gem, Pearl and Joel: They’re like the eager young employees just getting involved in anything they can or doing A LOT to show what they can do.
RenDog: He’s a weird one because he is SO creative and so down to do things, but he’s not a leader as often as Grian or Tango when it comes to server-wide storylines and games. I know the fandom puts him and Doc in a duo together, so maybe he’s like the R&D Manager.
Mumbo: He’s kind of been on sabbatical a bunch lately, but I think he’s also like Ren and that he doesn’t really get THAT into server-wide things consistently, but when he does, he’s a big part.
Etho: He’s that one old employee who you keep around because it just wouldn’t be the same without him. He’s like a Chairman Emeritus or something like that.
False: I genuinely don’t know what False would be like. She’s active enough that I know she brings something big to the table, but yet I haven’t seen her involved with the wider Hermitcraft stuff on a leadership level. Ideas welcome.
Wels, Beef, Hypno, Keralis, Jevin and XB:
They all strike me as ground floor employees. They’re doing their thing but it’s a very small part when compared to the wider organization. Sometimes they’ll step up (like Jevin’s Sal storyline or Beef’s TCG), but it’s not often.
-
Again, I’m speaking in terms of the impact I’ve seen them have on the wider Hermitcraft organization, whether it’s public-facing, behind the scenes (that we know of), or in the server itself.
Let me know if I forgot a Hermit and what y’all think.
