Election is just a few months away. I asked for 5 key details through RTI and I’m planning to drop them here before voting day. Let’s see what they’ve been hiding.

RTI Format :

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am filing this RTI application under Section 6(1) of the RTI Act, 2005 to request the following information regarding funds allocated and spent by the MLA of <District name> Constituency, Shri <MLA name> during the last five years including 2025:

1. Total amount of MLA Local Area Development (MLA LADS) funds allocated to Kasargod Constituency each year.
2. Year wise details of how much of the allocated funds were actually spent.
3. A list of projects or works carried out using MLA funds in the last five years, including:

Name of the project or work

Location (village or ward or panchayat)

Amount sanctioned

Amount utilized

Current status (completed or ongoing or pending)

4. Details of unspent MLA funds, if any, in each year during the last five years.

5. Details of any additional funds apart from MLA LADS (such as special packages, state government schemes, or central schemes routed through the MLA) allocated to Kasargod Constituency on the recommendation of the MLA.
