PAM (അമീബിക് മസ്തിഷ്ക ജ്വരം) in Kerala—should we be worried about our tap water?

The other day I was reading a news article on Times of India about morbidities and mortalities associated with Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (അമീബിക് മസ്തിഷ്ക ജ്വരം). It says, reportedly, there have been 80 cases and 21 deaths. For the past few weeks, I have been reading about cases reported across Kerala and have discovered that, during the 2016-2023 period, most cases were reported from the northern districts. Alarmingly, cases are also emerging from other districts. Given the fatality of the infection and the fact that investigators (don't know if an investigation as such exists) couldn't trace the source of infection, this remains a serious issue. In a research article published on the "Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report", I came across a case report of a fatal infection in the US. The woman who died of infection had reportedly had nasal rinsing using contaminated water. The investigators had found that she had used a water tank - flowed water to her washroom/kitchen faucets - and municipal water sometimes, and the chlorine levels in the water were below the recommended level, and there was the presence of ammonia in the water; the water was also alarmingly turbid. I was thinking like, whether the drinking water supplied (I mean the tap water, potable water in workplaces and academic institutions) is well maintained and clean. Don't know if authorities periodically check if water filters work properly or if disinfection residuals in water systems is at the optimal level. Of course, the infection doesn't happen via drinking water, but due to reckless behavior, water can be splashed up into the nose. Turbidity in the water can deplete chlorination and can favour these deadly amoebae. So be careful, guys!!. I was just trying to collect details of the cases, especially details on their demography, epidemiology, and pathology. I succeeded in getting case reports of 8 patients (2016 - 2023 period), and I tried contacting officials at the Calicut medical college for accessing clinical reports of patients post 2024, but none responded (literally). Being Stalked for Years – Need Advice on How to Make It Stop

Hi everyone, I’m at my wits’ end and really need some guidance.

A guy has been stalking me for over 4 years (maybe even longer). He’s a former friend of my ex-boyfriend and became obsessed with me after things started falling apart with my ex. I’ve blocked him on every social platform, but he keeps finding ways to harass me— mostly through daily spam emails now. He even tried contacting my family until they blocked him too.

I’ve heard he may have schizophrenia or bipolar disorder (not sure which), but that doesn’t make this any less terrifying. What makes it worse is that his mother encourages his behavior—she’s delusional and actually supports him. So it feels impossible to make them take this seriously.

I just want this to end. It’s beyond creepy and incredibly stressful. Who can I report this to? Cybercrime? Any legal steps I should take?

Any advice or next steps would mean so much.
