Post Lasik Ectasia - How Lasik Ruined my life

I am a 31 Year old who had LasiK done on both eyes a few years ago.I wore Glasses since 5th Standard and was used to it.but since Lasik was marketed as a type of "Cure",I decided to consult a visiting Optamologist at Amardeep Hospital,Kollam.
After Consultation , he said my eyes are a good candidate for Lasik. When I asked what I are the risks,he said in rare cases,I would have to wear glasses after a decade or so,which was OK enough for me.
The Lasik was done and after the followup, a month later,he said everything was OK..
About an year back,my right eye started getting blurry.I had some issues before but doctors said it was "normal" after lasik.
When I went to visit the doctor,he finally scanned my eyes, the First Time after my surgery.
I had post Lasik Ectasia... I devastating complication, which is "very rare".
Basically, my eyes are ruined.Beyond Fixing
Glasses can't fix my eyes.
It is also progressive.
The end result is possible CORNIAL TRANSPLANT.
and what did the doctor do?
Nothing.

When we asked for medical reports ,they just gave me a BS Letter from the Doctor.

I had to do a Painful surgery called C3R on one of my eyes.

After an year,I have Double vision in both eyes with 6/24 vision in my right...basically Blind in one eyes...

Only solution is wearing RGP or Scleral lens which can only be worn for 4 to 5 hours in a Stretch and is super hard to put on and take of...

The Lens costs 35k per eye, will last 2 years if lucky.
Saline and cleaning solution costs 3000 every month
C3R costs near 30k

None of this is covered by medical insurance
Don't think the doctor can be successfully sued because, doctors are in the council and they never rule against thier own...

I am not saying his name bacause i don't want him to have any ammunition to use against me legally when I try to move against him in court....

LASIK IS A BAD IDEA.
Learn from my suffering and avoid the hell that I am suffering....because I trusted a moron.

How I am planning to build a open source platform to track local issues, mapping India's geography [Long Read, Looking for Advice, Guidance, Feedbacks and Comments]

Tried posting this in r/developersIndia and got removed. I know this is for the nation altogether but I'm from Kerala. So I hope my home sub help this post find a place.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been sitting on this idea for a while, and I’m finally putting it out here. This is less of a rant and more of a call to action. As citizens, we often feel powerless when it comes to holding authorities accountable. India is a beautiful country, but let’s be honest—scams, corruption, broken systems, and neglect of everyday civic issues keep eroding trust. Middle-class taxpayers especially feel like they’re just being squeezed without seeing meaningful change.

So here’s the concept: an open-source civic accountability platform with a map-based interface.

# The Idea

* Imagine a clickable map of India → states → districts → municipalities → panchayats.
* In each locality, users can post issues: potholes, broken drainage, unsafe infrastructure, water supply problems, or even misconduct by officials.
* Think of it as a Reddit-style system: posts are upvoted/downvoted so the most relevant issues rise to the top.
* Users can tag the responsible authority (since public data for officials is available), creating transparent responsibility.
* It becomes a kind of “Wall of Shame” for inaction, with leaderboards showing which areas are worst-managed.
* Privacy is key: all posts will be anonymous to protect users.

This wouldn’t solve problems overnight, but over time it could become a tool to pressure accountability and give citizens a voice at scale.

# Why Open Source?

Because this is bigger than one person. The soul of this project is about purpose-driven collaboration. This needs developers, designers, data enthusiasts, and everyday citizens who care about building something meaningful.

# What I Need

* Like-minded folks who see value in this and want to contribute in their spare time (weekends, after work, whenever you can).
* People with skills in backend/frontend development, mapping/geo-tools, databases, cybersecurity (for anonymity), or UI/UX design.
* Even if you’re not highly skilled—enthusiasm and willingness to learn are equally important.

For context, I’m a fresher working my first job, and I’m definitely open to guidance and mentorship as I’m learning my way through this. If you have ideas for how to make this better, suggestions for features, or advice on any aspect of the project, I’d really appreciate your input—the more collaborative, the better! Let’s build this together and shape it into something truly impactful.

I work full-time, so this won’t be a fast sprint—it’s more about steady, motivated progress with people who believe in the purpose.

If this resonates with you, drop a comment or DM me. Let’s see if we can kickstart a passionate open-source community around this.
