Anaesthetists of Kerala, how much do you earn ?

Im a first generation doctor with no other Doctors in the family. My NEET PG 2025 results would fetch me Anaesthesia DNB seat. As someone who wishes to settle in Kerala itself (Kannur-Kozhikode), I would like to know how much should I expect to earn being an Anaesthetist. My concern is not being able to practice independently. Is the branch getting saturated ? I’ve heard my parents saying some colleague’s son/daughter has taken up anaesthesia quiet often. Please shed some light regarding the ground reality of this field in Kerala.

For the non Anaesthetists reading this, please do me a favour by upvoting the post so that this post doesn’t become invisible.

Thank you.

The colour of the saree bought for the engagement faded, the consumer commission held the designer responsible

The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission held IHA Designs and its manager liable for selling a defective saree. The complainant's wife suffered humiliation due to the discolouration of the saree she wore with anticipation and pride on the day of her sister's engagement.

Influenced by the designer's advertisements which promised curated selection and high quality craftsmanship, the complainant purchased 14 sarees worth Rs 89,199. He purchased the sarees for his wife and relatives for the engagement ceremony of his sister-in-law, believing the assurances given by the opposite parties about the superior quality of their products.

On the day of engagement, the complainant's wife wore a newly purchased pink saree worth Rs. 16,500 and the colour of the saree started fading. The visible discolouration caused embarrassment and emotional distress in front of the family and guests. The complainant and his wife visited IHA Design and informed them about the incident. But they were treated rudely and the opposite parties refused to offer a refund or replacement.

The complainant sent several mails, and a legal notice was also sent, but there was no response. Aggrieved by this, the complainant approached the Consumer Commission. The opposite party entered appearance on 15.05.2024, but they failed to appear thereafter or even fail to file their written version, and hence the ex parte proceedings

The Commission found that the defective nature of the product and the post-dismissal behaviour of the opposite parties clearly established unfair trade practices, deficiency in service and lack of professionalism.

The Commission said selling defective goods and failing to redress a consumer's complaint promptly and effectively is deficiency in service under the Consumer Protection Act. Sellers and service providers must ensure that the products sold meet the promised standards and also promptly address consumer complaints. The Commission said consumer satisfaction does not end with the sale, but post-sale responsibility is equally binding.

The Commission found that the saree, purchased for an important family function, gets discoloured on first use, causing emotional distress and public embarrassment, which amounts to defect in goods, deficiency in service and unfair trade practice. The refusal to entertain the complaint and the dismissive attitude of "go to court" not only reflects lack of accountability but also disregard for basic consumer dignity, the Commission said. The commission accepted the complaint and directed IHA Design and its manager to refund the complainant Rs 16,500 towards the price of the defective saree. Apart from this, Rs 15,000 as compensation and Rs 5,000 as compensation were also ordered.
