If you guys just so happened to have 1560 steel ingots per minute laying around, what would you do with them? Image unrelated.

How do you structure this game?
Beginner here. Coming from factorio.
40h in satisfactory and I feel like I just reached the midgame.
Until now, my strategy has always been this:
You want to atomate the construction of a product?
Search a place where all resources of the product are present, build a factory there and run a belt from the factory to my main base, where I store everything in containers.
This worked pretty well until now.
Now I want to create rifle ammo, which needs copper, oil, coal and sulfur.
It is still manageable to gather all the materials there, but it slowly feels like I cannot follow the strategy anymore and have to change something.
And I somehow cannot find any strategy for the future...
How do I proceed?
In factorio, there is basically one way to play the game.
There is a smelting area, a main bus and a production area. That's it.
But the freedom in satisfactory how to play the game stresses me out and I am scared to build more bad small factories where I loose overview. Plus the problem with shipping products between factories will increase.
Do you have any strategic tips for structuring everything?
By the way, the game is insane 🌞
Generally less stressful than factorio. The movement and the look of the game is genius. You also don't have to automate everything and also don't have to produce incredible numbers of items. At least that is my feeling until now. But on the other hand, I have spent 6 hours on building a good coal power plant, which is a crazy long time for something that just produces power 🤭
Edit:
Wow, thanks for all of the answers. What a great community for this great game.
So I will try to do a bigger oil factory now, that produces everything that needs oil. But in general, I will stay with the idea of having multiple smaller factories.
By the way, yes, I just realized yesterday that through this cloud-approach of items, you actually don't need something like a "home base" where you gather your materials. That makes the decentralized much easier. What a nice concept 🌞
