Should gods be reintroduced to the series?

Lately I've been thinking on what the next entry on the series could be like and I gotta say that making a sequel to DMC 5 without would be very complicated without pulling another somehow unknown demon king.

There are a few concepts in here that could open the gateway for more content, like the godly pantheon that got exterminated/demonified, the alternative timelines (like the one we saw on 2s novel), the primordial chaos and the original demon king.

Out of all of these I think bringing gods into the mix could be an interesting way to do some world building and expand onto the lore and since heaven canonically doesn't exist (heaven in these series refers to the demon realm) it wouldn't be that hard to include in the already established lore.

What do you think?

What’s the real meaning of DMC5’s ending (2019) ? And is Nero actually stronger than Dante or Vergil? (Spoilers Alert)

So at the end of Devil May Cry 5, Dante and Vergil stay behind in the demon world to keep it sealed, while Nero steps up as the new protector of the human world.

But I’m wondering what’s the real meaning behind that ending? Is it about redemption, family, or just them accepting who they are?

Also… do you guys think Nero is actually stronger than Dante or Vergil now? He technically stopped their fight and overpowered Vergil, but Vergil did say “Next time, I won’t lose.” And that punch from both of them hit hard.

Curious what everyone thinks !

A year ago I had never played a DMC game, and today I come to you with every mainline 100%'ed

Ignore cyberpunk

I've always thought this series was great, I loved the aesthetic and the flashy gameplay, but I had never actually played one. I saw a post about DMC5 on twitter saying something along the lines of "DMC5 is much better if you've actually played the others" and talking about how the story truly sends the games off perfectly and you lose a lot by not playing them first. I had always assumed the story was entirely irrelevant for whatever reason, so I was intrigued. I decided to start at one, and from there I decided: "What the hell, let's see why 2 is regarded as so bad," and at one point or another I thought maybe I should get all the achievements since it sounded like a lot of fun. Before I knew it, I had fallen in love with everything about these games. From the messy, hilarious, deceptively deep storyline and lore, to the gameplay that I watched evolve (and sometimes devolve) as I played through every single one and bathed in every flaw and strength alike. I truly love these games for everything they are, and I wanted to share my short story with you all.

My final rating on my favorites:

5>3>1=4>2
(I do think 4 is just a better game going by the standards modern games live up to, but judging 1 for exactly what it is and what it began makes it so special that I have them equally great for different reasons.)

Ignoring any and all powerscaling discourse about the winner, what are some things you want to see in the rapidly approaching Dante vs Clive Death battle? Like Interactions, voice actors and Animation.

Capcom doesn’t care about their old games, and that’s the future companies want.
