My name is Idan Rooze and I am not responsible for the slop Schedule I scam on the Playstation Store

Hey everyone, it was just brought to my attention that someone is selling a blatant rip-off of Schedule I on the PlayStation Store, and they’re using my name as the developer.

I want to make it absolutely clear that I have nothing to do with this. I’m a solo game developer currently working on my own project, and it seems like whoever uploaded this thought using my name would somehow make their product look more legitimate (?).

If anyone knows how to properly report this to Sony, I’d really appreciate advice.

The Target I work for is no longer selling Xbox games.

On Wednesday, the Target I work for has removed all Xbox games and I’m pretty sure it will be store wide. All the games have been discontinued and will most likely go clearance. After all these years of selling Xbox games, it’s weird to see only PlayStation and Nintendo games being sold. In 10 years, I’m pretty sure there will no video games in stores. Just download cards. It’s definitely going make me sad due to me having so much nostalgia of me spending time in the video game sections of stores.

The moment in a game when you realized you were the villain all along.

Some games do not tell you directly that you are the bad guy, it just slowly hits you. That moment when you stop and think, wait… am I the problem here?

In Spec Ops: The Line, it hits hard when you realize the enemies were not who you thought they were.

In The Last of Us Part II, you slowly start to see both sides and question everything you did before.

Red Dead Redemption 2 does it in a quiet way too, where the world starts reacting to who you have become, not who you wanted to be.

Even in Baldur’s Gate 3, there are choices that feel right at the time but end up showing a darker part of you, and the game does not hide from it.

What was that one moment in a game when you realized you were not the hero after all?

Thank you.

What's the best stand-alone game to never receive any sequels, prequels, or spin-offs?

Was thinking about how standard it is for every reasonably successful game to get a sequel or at least a spin-off. Even a modern classic like Bloodborne has people expecting there will be a sequel at some point because it would be weird not to get one.

So, what game actually was a stand-alone hit that never got turned into a franchise? Obviously we can ignore games released in the last few years that haven't had the opportunity yet.

Which feature of a game was so terrible that whoever made it should be banned from ever owning an electronic device again?

Those game features that a weirdly masochistic segment of the fandom love despite their awfulness.

The Game Awards could actually be really cool if they made awards that were more specific to gaming

Of course, game of the year - just like best picture at the Oscars - will always be the big one. But if you look at the Oscars, the next four most attention-grabbing awards are all for the people playing the roles - which is unsurprising because the actors and the characters they play bring the most human interest to the table. Gaming (on the surface) doesn't have an equivalent to those so it feels like only game of the year is of any real interest to anyone and then the rest of the awards are equivalent to all the Oscars' various technical categories.

However, each year gaming does offer up similarly interesting things if you look at the industry from the perspective of players. Things like best playable character, best new character or best villain would, I feel, drum up a lot more attention and interest than stuff like best sports/racing game. Also, something like best new world with the contenders being literally the name of the city / planet / galaxy a game is set in instead of the name of the game, or something like best single level / stage - or even more specific, best side-quest - would, to me at least, be something pretty intriguing and add more personality to proceedings.

Particularly character based awards I could see creating a lot of interest and debate with people really hoping their favourite wins, and it would have the side benefit that whoever it is portraying the character would likely get far more attention than anyone currently does for winning best performance.
