Best Skill Trees in games?

I don't know if this happens to you, but personally I hate it when I'm excited to see that a Skill Tree is big, only to realize that most of the Skills are things like "Attack 10% faster," "Deal 10% more damage," or "Allows you to carry more ammo."

So now I'm on the lookout for the best Skill Trees. Skill Trees that have a bunch of special moves or even new mechanics to unlock. Any suggestions?

All games developed by Valve over the last 10 years. Quite productive, although not all games were successful

Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown's demo reminds me why the gaming community can suck sometimes

The demo for Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown came out and as a big Star Trek fan I checked it out ... it's interesting, lots of potential depending on how deep the roguelike mechanics go in the final version, and clearly a lot of love for the source material from the indie devs.

The comments though are obsessed. "This NEEDS the original Star Trek music and sound effects or it's a failure", "No voice acting by the original actors will kill this", etc. Some people saying they hardly even played the game, just checked out whether it had these things and deemed it a failure because it doesn't.

If the game is fun I don't care if it's text-only or doesn't have original licensed music ... it's a small indie developer and those things cost a lot of money. But some gamers would rather have no game at all it seems.

Videogames where you pilot a large spaceship.

Want to see if I'm missing something, not looking for the rts ones.

X4 got my attention recently, also bought Elite Dangerous.

Talking about a third person camera and a slow moving large battleship.

Beyond the Stars is perfect example.
Space Crew kinda counts.

If you didn’t want your game compared to VTMB, then you shouldn’t have named it VTMB 2
