I cannot boot into macOS via OpenCore

My brother has a Hackintosh setup that suddenly started getting stuck when attempting to boot into macOS. This is very important to him, as he is a musician and uses this to make and store all of his music. I work in IT so i volunteered to fix it for him. I initially spent about six hours troubleshooting it with ChatGPT before deciding to bring the system home for further work.

I replaced the existing OC folder with a fresh OpenCore 1.0.5 version. After doing so, I encountered the following errors that flash briefly before the OpenCore Boot Menu loads:

OCS: No schema for HfsPlus.efi at 5 index, context <UEFI>!

OCS: No schema for ApfsDriverLoader.efi at 6 index, context <UEFI>!

OCS: No schema for OpenRuntime.efi at 7 index, context <UEFI>!

OCS: No schema for OpenCanopy.efi at 8 index, context <UEFI>!

Once the OpenCore Boot Menu (REL-105-2025-07-07) appears, it only lists the EFI and Windows partitions — the macOS partition is missing. Attempting to boot from the EFI partition causes the system to hang indefinitely without loading further.

Issues loading AppleHDA in macOS 26.0.1 (25A362)

So I upgraded from Sequoia to Tahoe 26.0.1 (25A362), mostly everything works, fixed wifi with itlwm+heliport, bluetooth works as well but the speakers do not work.

Read some guides which suggested trying MyKextInstaller in order to install AppleHDA kext in the system to make AppleALC work again.

The first issue is, there's no KDK for this specific version of macOS in the Dortania KDK mirror repository on GitHub. So, I tried the latest KDK and the KDK which was close to the macOS ver I currently have in my system.

In both the cases, after OpenCore boots up (I have verbose on) and goes to the Apple Logo, it gets stuck with 20% progress in the progress bar which is below the Apple logo. Had to revert to a snapshot using bliss and then the system booted.

Tried VoodooHDA-Tahoe by chris on GitHub as well, but there's no audio devices detected after reboot. OCLP-Mod doesn't show the start root patching button.

My card is a Realtek AC238 with alcid 3, which worked perfectly fine in Sequoia.

Easiest and simplest solution for my use case?

I was not sure where to post, but I have many old Apple TVs. I wanted to jailbreak them, but it seems that can only be done through a Mac computer. Since I am not buying an old Mac (which maintains insane prices in Brazil), I thought using a spare computer that I have to build a hackintosh( I don’t know if you can maybe do a live boot or something temporary like that) would suffice for my problem.

Specs of the spare computer that I have

RAM: 2x4GB DDR4 3200MHz , but it runs at
2666MHZ I think

GPU: Integrated Vega 3

I don’t think I would really need a hackintosh, but virtual environments don’t seem to work for what I need. I searched a bit and it seems that NootedRed could help me. But maybe I am missing something.

Internal says drive not detected in macOS recovery

Internal sata drive not detected in macOS recovery on my laptop but is recognized when put on external hard drive dock I installed Ventura using external dock but can’t boot off the drive when installed back to my laptop I have used both the unsupported sata drive left and the CtinaAHCIport kext to no avail

Pink purple Hdmi screen

Hellow hackingtosher,

i have my pc and i instaaled mac os Sequoia, and after Ventura, i have same isssue on both of version is that my HDmi get proper igpu patch but alwyas seems purple pink screen,

my specs are

Desktop : HP 280 G3 MT

How does the Hackintosh boot after installation in UEFI mode? Do i need an EFI partition?

Hello,

i created an USB drive to install MACOS on my PC. The USB drive needs an EFI partition and the MACOS data. I installed MACOS to the local drive but i can only boot the machine when the USB stick with the EFI partition is connected.


That does not make sense to me:

Does the hackintosh local SSD _also_ need an EFI partition? The installer just caught the whole drive without an EFI partition. Where is the opencore EFI now stored?

Help: LG 5K monitor does not power up randomly

Hi Everyone, this has been puzzles me for a while, I would really appreciate if you can help me for following problem:
I am using a AMD Radeon pro WX7100 with 4 display ports to drive two 5K monitors, LG 5K and Dell UP2715K. LG 5K is connected to the thunderbolt EX4 card with 2 DP IN to the WX7100. Dell monitor is connected to rest of the 2 display ports. Below is my system specs:


My motherboard is Asus ROG Z790-A WIFI D4

CPU: Intel 13600K

RAM: 32GB

Thunderbolt AIC: Thunderbolt EX4 with NVM 31 firmware

when I use BIOS version 1801, under MacOS, LG 5K can be detected all the time with camera and audio working properly. but in windows, it did not work properly with the dell monitor(detect as 2 monitor), also LG monitors camera and audio is not detected.

then I updated the BIOS to the newest version 3001, I found the thunderbolt menu in BIOS is changed, under windows everything works perfectly! however, when I boot into MacOS (Ventura 13.7.8), the LG 5K monitor is not detected sometimes, regardless of cold boot or restart.
but when it is detected in MacOS, it is working beautifully, it's about 50-50 chance of the thunderbolt display being detected in MacOS.
it is even interesting that sometimes the LG 5K can even show the apple progress bar when it is booting but once it loads to the MacOS, it just become not detected and black screen.

I have tried move to Sonoma and Sequoia, same symptom - the LG 5K thunderbolt display is not detected half of the time regardless of cold boot and restart.

I have been troubleshooting for quite sometime, including using different OS, different SSDT for thunderbolt, different kexts, USB remapping, I just could not get the LG 5K display detected all the time.

I’m trying to build a Ryzentosh / Hackintosh and I want to know if anyone has already got it working with this hardware combination:

CPU: Athlon 3000G (with integrated Vega 3)
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 750 Ti
RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
WiFi: TP-Link AC600 PLUS USB (Realtek RTL8811AU chip)

Goal: macOS Ventura (or another stable version)

Specific questions:

Has anyone got it working with this motherboard + CPU?
If you used a GPU, did the GTX 750 Ti perform better or the integrated Vega 3?

First Time Hackintos - Advice for Ryzen 5 4650u?

Hi everyone at r/hackintosh,

I'm a complete beginner looking to build my first ever hackintos and could really use guidance from the community. I've been reading the Dortania OpenCore guide and lurking on various forums, but I'm still a bit hesitant about compatibility, especially with an AMD laptop.

My hardware is as follows:

Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad T14 gen 1, CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U, iGPU: AMD Radeon Graphics, RAM: 16GB DDR4, Wi-Fi/BT: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 / 5.1, Audio: Realtek Codec.

My main question is What would be the most stable and recommended macOs version for this spesific setup?

I've seen many people suggest that macOs Big-Sur is the safest bet for AMD systems. However, I've also seen some success stories with Monterey or even Tahoe on newer Ryzen CPUs. my biggest concern are getting reliably, such as: Full graphics acceleration on the iGPU, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Audio, Sleep/Wake functionality.

Has anyone here had a successful experience with this laptop or a similar Ryzen 4000 series model? Are there any major roadblocks, specific kexts, or patches I should absolutely be aware of before I start?

Which GPU is better for 5K Samsung ViewFinity S9 on Hackintosh: XFX RX 6900 XT or Sapphire Nitro+ SE RX 6800 XT? (macOS compatibility & 5K performance)

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to set up a Hackintosh and want to drive a 5K Samsung ViewFinity S9 monitor. I’m trying to decide between:

XFX RX 6900 XT
Sapphire Nitro+ SE RX 6800 XT

My main concerns are:

1. macOS compatibility and stability
2. Smooth performance at 5K resolution
3. Using DisplayPort vs USB‑C for 5K@60Hz

I’ve read that the 6800 XT has more stable Hackintosh support, but the 6900 XT might offer slightly better performance. I’m open to hearing real-world experiences from those who’ve used either card with 5K monitors on macOS.

Question:
