Mamkoottathil issue : The other side, why are we not discussing it?

Rahul Mamkoottathil is in a soup. Looks like he has cooked his career into a crisp. You reap what you sow. So be it.

But I am amazed that nobody is discussing the other end of this controversy. Most of the ladies who have come up with allegations against him are media-persons. This includes allegedly one lady who was impregnated at least 2 times by him. What about their ethics as media persons then ? Some of these media people are being employed by mainstream channels / newspapers. They are required by their profession to be independent or should there be a conflict, such conflict be disclosed upfront. It could very well be possible that they could be anchoring evening debates about Mr Mankootam and manipulating the discussions to show him in a positive light.

There was one more case a while back. A prominent anchor was seen accompanying a young neta to the latter's apartment and then leaving afterward. The anchor still continues to be employed by the same media house.

Should not media people also be held to the same level of scrutiny and accountability as politicians here ? After they waste no opportunity to shout "freedom of press" and being "4th pillar of democracy" and claim immunity.

If anything this whole episode once again exposed how rotten is our media landscape. It is nothing but corrupt, compromised and in unholy liaisons with the powers to be. When will they become accountable to the public for these ?
