Fake / unregistered doctors are working all across Kerala—even inside hospitals. Here’s why we should all be worried.
Across Kerala, people without proper medical registration are working as doctors—sometimes as junior doctors in hospitals, sometimes running clinics. What’s scarier is that many hospital administrations and clinic owners know this, but keep them on because it’s cheaper and more profitable.
Think about it: you walk into a hospital trusting that the person in a white coat has the qualifications to treat you. But what if they don’t? What if it’s someone who never cleared MBBS, or is using someone else’s registration number? Sadly, that’s exactly what has been exposed multiple times in the last few years.
And the damage isn’t just to patients. Fake doctors destroy the reputation of genuine doctors, erode public trust in healthcare, and even cut into the earnings of qualified professionals. While real doctors spend years studying, passing exams, and paying hefty fees, these impostors exploit the system and give the entire profession a bad name.
What can we do as the public?
Always ask your doctor for their registration number. A genuine doctor will have no problem sharing it—it’s issued by the Kerala State Medical Council (KSMC) or National Medical Commission (NMC).
Cross-check if needed. KSMC and NMC both have online portals where you can verify a doctor’s registration. It takes 2 minutes.
Report suspicious cases. If a doctor refuses to share their number, or if you suspect fake credentials, report it to the hospital management and to the Medical Council.
This isn’t just about “catching fakes.” It’s about protecting patients, saving lives, and restoring trust in healthcare.

Die hard malayalam movie fan here, Non-malayali
21M here. I got into Malayalam movies back in 2019 when my cousin told me to watch Premam. Since then, it’s been around 7 years and I’ve ended up watching pretty much everything from 2018–19 till now.
At this point, even my Spotify is filled with 1000+ Malayalam songs that I listen to on loop every day. Honestly, Malayalam cinema has made my weekends so much better, and I just wanted to thank this community for that.
I’ve tried watching other language movies too, but nothing ever really clicked for me. Guess I’m just a hardcore Malayalam movie fan now.
