The plight of SUT AMS students.

I am writing this reddit post as a last resort because this will probably hinder mine and others studies and future career as well. I am posting this from my friend’s reddit account. I just want this information out there.

I am a student of SUT Academy of Medical Sciences, Vattappara. There is a professor called Dr. (Redacted) of General Medicine department. He has purposefully failed around 10 people of us. The reason for this is that we do not appease to him and does not stroke his ego. In the past he was caught red handed misbehaving with a female student and was ejected from the institute. Then after the management changed he was reinstated to the department.

He himself claims that he wants to elevate the standards of medical education but never hesitated to give marks to the person that cannot elicit plantar reflex and who says females have cremasteric reflex (a laughable blunder, she even passed the exam). He even boasted about this incident to our faces.

On the practical examination, he had total control over all the station (this is not the norm, each station is supposed to have it’s own internal). He presided over both OSCE and the long cases, this is what allowed him to fail and pass students in his own volition and steer the examination in his own favour. A person who skipped two stations ended up passed, this is kind of power he has. He was all over the place and joins station in the middle of the viva and award marks without proper assessment. There was clear bias, some vivas were progressing with intermittent laughing and jokes while the students he hated was demotivated verbally.

He is known to be a person that flirts around female students and would never stop boasting about passing students on his own decision. These are the things he admits himself but we were not smart enough to record these conversations. The most disheartening thing is that some students were deliberately made to pass just because he thoughts so. There are accusations about him taking attendance sheets home. Those of the girls that he favours (those who talks to him late at night and that kind of stuff) were awarded lopsided internal marks, the discrimination is evident when comparing it to marks in other subjects. He has the nerve to tell us that students have failed because they did not prepare.

The male students of the class have a very hard time under this dude (Shouting ‘Erangi Poda’ etc), booting them off viva exams without giving them a chance to complete the viva. He induce so much fear in students and most students give into it because there is no other option. It is common knowledge in the college that if you want to pass the medicine exam, you better bend over for him.

He helps students cheat in the exam as well, this is the cherry on top. He revealed the findings of viva cases to the students he favours.

The students might get this same guy in the future practical SAY exam which is around one month from now (the results came around two weeks ago). There is high chance this pattern will repeat.

To the young medical aspirants in this subreddit: Please stay clear off this college.
