The HINDU - Mental health matters (2/3)

To address this critical issue, we have been providing free of cost support through individual counseling sessions, wellbeing workshops and dedicated telegram channel. However, many aspirants might not be aware of these resources or how to access them. This is where I need your help.

I urge all of you to share this channel and information about my counseling services with other aspirants you know. By spreading the word, you can help your fellow aspirants who are struggling with mental health issues but are unable to seek therapy due to various barriers. Your small effort can make a huge difference in someone’s life by helping them deal with stressors and enhancing their overall well-being.

Let us not self-sabotage our UPSC preparation.

Noticing these patterns within you would be a first step towards self care.

1. Are you comparing your preparation to other aspirants?

2. Are you thinking too much about results and other things that you can't control?

3. Do you tend to spend too many hours just thinking? And end up in loops of thoughts without reaching a solid, rational conclusion?

4. Does it happen that you keep getting memories of your high achievement days and feel sad about it?

5. Do you prefer being alone and find it difficult to open up about tough emotions to your family/friends?

6. Are you pressurizing yourself to finish too much syllabus in too little time?

Grab your sneakers and have a good run!

As we try to make sense of our surroundings and our attempts, as we try to bring consistency in studying; don't forget the role of exercise.

These days are extra tough as your external anchor of regular lectures might not be available to you. In this case, other aspects like maintaining diet, sleep and exercise will need more push from your side.

Once you achieve it, you will feel healthier and ready to bounce back to your preparation.
