Rude staff at Minerva Coffee Shop, Madhapur, aggressively demanded a tip.
I decided to have a comforting breakfast at Minerva Coffee Shop in Madhapur. I was happy after my meal, but that feeling didn’t last long. When it was time to pay, a staff member insisted that we leave a tip, even though tipping is voluntary.
The conversation went like this:
Staff member: “Aapko tip ke liye QR code ya fir cash? ” (“For the tip, will you use the QR code or cash?”)
My friend and I: “Ye toh voluntary hota hai. ” (“But that’s voluntary.”) (smiling awkwardly)
Staff member: “Par hum service charge nahi lagate hai. ” (“But we don’t add a service charge.”)
Us: “Legally allowed bhi nahi hai. ” (“That’s not legally allowed anyway.”)
She instantly picked up the card machine, stormed off, and slammed it on her podium while making rude hand gestures.
We tried to find the manager, but he was not there at 8:30 AM. When we asked another server about the manager, the poor fellow was very polite and apologized on his colleague’s behalf. We quietly walked away as she continued to speak to the server with an aggressive and rude expression. The incident completely ruined our mood on the day of the festival, and we will never visit the Minerva Coffee Shop in Madhapur again.

Why do shopkeepers give a weird look here?
When I try to negotiate on prices, shopkeepers look entitled to get what they demand and are uninterested to even continue the conversation. Is it because the rest of the elite migrants are willing to pay? We people value the money, and get the fair deal, mostly without hurting the vendors, but this is getting out of hand. For instance, a shopkeeper was selling rice for 80/kg and same quality one we get for 60/kg in tier 2. Even after starting negotiation for 75/kg for a 50kg purchase, he is not even interested to sell. Same with some electrician who visited home and asked 3500 for geyser repair which is absurd. I asked to do it for 3000 although I know it is way too much because of emergency but he denied. I got it repaired for 1000 by official service centre later. It is not that I can’t afford, but I can’t support overpaying for no reason. Considering a metro city, prices should be more, but not exponential.

Update on Alien.hub Refund Issue — Now They’re Threatening Us to Delete the Post
Hi guys,
I wanted to share an **important update** about my earlier post regarding **Alien.hub not refunding our token amount** for their Kadthal project.
After that post started getting attention here, their team has now **started calling and messaging us**, threatening that **unless we delete the Reddit post, they won’t refund our money.**
Just to clarify:
* Our post only shared **factual details and proof-based experiences**.
* We’re **not defaming anyone** — we’re only speaking up about how consumers are being treated.
* It’s really disappointing to see them **harassing** us instead of resolving the issue professionally.
We haven’t taken any legal action yet, and we don’t plan to — **unless they continue this harassment**, in which case we’ll be forced to.
For now, we’ve already **raised a complaint on** [**consumerhelpline.gov.in**]() and are keeping all call and chat records as proof.
It’s honestly sad that instead of fixing the problem, they’re trying to silence people.
Hyderabad should be a place where people feel confident investing — not afraid to speak up.
If anyone else has faced similar issues, feel free to discuss and share. A few of us are staying connected to track what’s happening and support each other.
Thanks again to everyone here for your support — it really helps more than you know
Let’s keep raising awareness so others don’t fall into the same trap.

To the AH that's bursting crackers
People are trying to sleep. It's 1 O' fucking clock at night. I have to work tomorrow, and my work is an essential service. Please stop bursting fireworks at this god forsaken hour. It's ringing in my ears. Honestly, these are not celebrations, this feels like an act of terror.
Please stop bursting crackers after 11PM at least. I have to be up in less than 3 hours and I haven't slept a wink in the last 36 hours. I feel like my eyes are bursting out.
