15-17 апреля в рамках поездки по консульскому округу Генеральный консул Российской Федерации в Эрбиле М.О.Рубин посетил провинцию Сулеймания, где принял участие в 9-м ежегодном Сулейманийском форуме, а также провел раздельные встречи с председателем «Патриотического союза Курдистана» (ПСК) Б.Талабани, вице-президентом Курдского автономного района Ирака (КАР) Дж.Мустафой, главой отдела внешних связей ПСК Д.Хейлани, губернатором провинции Сулеймания Х.Абубакиром, лидером партии "Новое поколение" Ш.Абдулвахидом, председателем партии "Народный фронт" Л.Шейх Джанги, курдским политическим деятелем М.Бахтияром, главным исполнительным директором телевизионной корпорации "Курдсат" Д.Рашидом.
Состоялось обсуждение широкого круга вопросов международной и региональной повестки дня, политической ситуации в Ираке в преддверии парламентских выборов, процесса формирования нового правительства КАР. Особое внимание было уделено перспективам укрепления двусторонних экономических связей и сотрудничества в области культуры и образования.
On April 15-17, Mr. Maxim Rubin, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Erbil, was in the consular district and visited the province of Sulaymani. There, he took part in the 9th annual Sulaymani Forum and held separate meetings with Mr. Bafel Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Mr. Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice president of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Mr. Dara Kheilany, Head of PUK's Foreign Relations, Mr Haval Abubaker, Governor of Sulaymaniyah Province, Mr Shaswar Abdalwahid, Leader of the New Generation Movement, Mr Lahur Sheikh Jangi, People`s Front politician, Mr. Mala Bakhtiyar, Kurdish politician, Derin Latif Rashid, Chief Executive Director of the broadcasting corporation «Kurdsat».
They discussed a wide range of issues on the international and regional age nda, the political situation in Iraq on the threshold of parliamentary elections, and the process of forming the new government of the KRG were discussed. Special attention was paid to the prospects of strengthening bilateral economic ties and cooperation in the field of culture and education.

⚡️ By the decision of the President of the Russian Federation and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and for humanitarian reasons, the Russian side is declaring a ceasefire from midnight on May 8 to midnight on May 11 (00:00 on May 8 — 00:00 on May 11) during the days marking the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
❗️ All military actions will be halted during this period.
Russia believes that the Ukrainian side should demonstrate similar restraint.
In the event of violations of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian side, the Russian Armed Forces will respond in an adequate and effective manner.
The Russian side once again reaffirms its readiness for peace talks without preconditions, aimed at addressing the root causes of the Ukraine crisis and engaging constructively with international partners.

победу в Великой Отечественной войне.

On April 30, the Consul General of Russia in Erbil, Mr. Maxim Rubin delivered a lecture to students of the College of
Political Science at Salahaddin University. During the seminar, he provided anoverview of the history of Russian-Kurdish relations, assessed the current
state of bilateral ties, and discussed prospects for expanding cooperation atthe political level, as well as in the fields of economy and education. Special
attention was given to the contribution of Soviet Kurds to the victory in theGreat Patriotic War.
A meeting was also held with the Dean of the College, Mr
Hiwa Khalil, during which ways to strengthen cooperation in academic and educationalfields were discussed.
