What do the NEW first-class compartments on #Russian trains look like?

Russian Railways’ new two-berth luxury SV compartments are now even cozier! Each compartment now features individual reading lights, power outlets, USB ports for charging gadgets, as well as multimedia screens with a selection of movies and music. There’s also more storage space for personal belongings, including a safe and a wardrobe for outerwear.
The length of the sleeping berths has also been increased to 2 meters (an extra 16 cm compared to the standard).

Each car can accommodate eight such compartments. Passengers also have access to a shower, hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
Currently, the new SV carriages are operating on routes No. 19/20 Rostov-on-Don – Moscow and #11/12 Anapa – Moscow. In the future, they’ll be introduced on trains between Moscow and Novorossiysk, Saransk, Voronezh, Tambov, Belgorod and St. Petersburg. What do you think? Would you take a ride in one?

You can now have conversations in QUIET on the #Moscow Metro!

Ever been in the subway and needed to make an important phone call or hold a video conference?
Well, now you can in the Moscow Metro! That’s because new acoustic booths have appeared in select stations, where you can communicate or work in complete sound isolation.

The first such booths can be found and used at the ‘Nizhegorodskaya’ and ‘Komsomolskaya’ stations. They’re designed for one person.

The door is made of translucent glass, preventing visibility into the user's device. Inside, there are USB and Type-C ports for charging phones and laptops, a workspace, good lighting and, most importantly, 100% soundproofing that blocks out outside noise.

Acoustic booths can be rented in two ways: book your preferred time slot in advance using a mobile app or reserve a time slot starting from 15 minutes by scanning a QR code on-site. The service will be free of charge until the end of 2025.

Belgian brewer Benoît De Witte came to Siberia 20 years ago on a business trip – to head a brewery in Angarsk. But, he was so struck by the Russian vastness and mentality that he decided to stay. 🍻

Now, he has a Russian wife, works in gastronomy and opened his own restaurant and coffee shop. His hobby is breeding huskies and, on weekends, he goes dog sledding in the frost. He’s also building a house on the shore of Lake Baikal.

"Other people think that Belgian predictability and comfort are what they need. But, I like to have more drive in my life! And stepping out of my comfort zone is my favorite adventure! That's why I live next to Lake Baikal," Benoît told the ‘Nation’ magazine.
