🙋Indeed, writing is an essential part of admissions!
Imagine you are walking down the road and meet someone. To communicate, you blink—but that person is blind.
This is exactly how it can turn out if your writing is weak: you can't communicate what you have.
⚡️But the question is: does getting into a good, selective college automatically mean you have strong writing?

Da Vinci did not simply paint the Mona Lisa—he obsessed over it for sixteen years, carrying it from Florence to Milan to Rome to France, reworking the smile countless times until even the corners of her eyes held secrets, a perfectionism so consuming that when Francis I finally hung it at Fontainebleau in 1519, the paint was still wet in places.
And like many other greats, Da Vinci also decorated the history books with a fitting quote of his: "Details make perfection, and perfection is not a detail."
He was right. Details indeed make perfection, and that applies to college admissions too. While the concept can apply to any major aspect of your portfolio, there is one special component where the approach becomes most essential: writing.
Indeed, that extra comma you decide to throw in, the small semicolon you place at the end of your sentence, and even the punchy little words you might add here and there—all of them have an insignificant significance that we, as writers, should not overlook.
The attached piece by William Strunk teaches you writing the way Da Vinci would teach art: each sentence, each word, and each punctuation mark.
🏛Make the tiny details of your writing so perfect that they find their way to the pavilions of the Louvre.

Do you know what does this picture mean? @satashkent
📍Meaning:
Imagine you have lived your whole life chained inside a cave, watching the flickering shadows put on a show, unaware whether they are real or not, mistaking them for reality. But one day, you are dragged out—barely breathing from the blow of enlightenment, your eyes slowly adjusting to the light after years of ignorance—only to realize all those shadows were just a puppet show, and the sunlit world outside holds the truth.
Plato didn't write this to describe a cave; he wrote it to describe us—humans. Most of us stay chained, silently conforming to the illusions, the puppet show, the biases, the prejudices. But once you have seen the sun, you can't go back to watching shadows.
"Ignorance is bliss," they may say, but you should take that red pill the way Neo did, just like in The Matrix.
Plato? Red pill? Cavemen? You might be wondering—what is this all about?

🏛The Long-Awaited Writing Project Agora!
In a time when strong writing can define college admissions—and thinking itself—we're launching the first iteration of Project Agora, a writing program built around clarity, depth, and originality.
What You’ll Get:
- 8 offline live sessions each month for 2 months (total of 16 sessions)
- A creative writing curriculum designed to build your voice
- A super challenging reading curriculum seamlessly integrated into each lesson
- 4 exclusive meetups on writing with students currently studying at top global universities: Ozodbek (Amherst '29), Eldor (CMU-Q '29), Kamoliddin (KAIST '29), and 1 very SECRET guest
❗️A very important note: To successfully graduate from the program, you must work on one personal essay and get confirmation from five of your mentors once it’s ready.
This is not a “how-to-write-your-college-essay” course. In fact, it isn’t even a course for college admissions. It’s about how to think well, read deeply, and write sharply—so your essays (and everything else you decide to write) come from real intellect, not from cliché structures or common formulas.
Pricing:
- $70 per month (8 sessions)
- $130 for the full 16-session course
- 50% discount for SATashkent Community members
Teachers:
1. Husan Isomiddinov - Main Coordinator and Mentor of the Program
2. Ozodbek Eshboboyev - Speaker
3. Eldor Khamrayev - Speaker
4. Kamoliddin Yo'lbarsov - Speaker
5. Secret Guest - Speaker
The very first session is happening on Thursday, 6pm. It will be an open class where everyone can join free of charge. If you're interested in the program and its curriculum, you can continue with the course.
To join first class, message "Agora" for @satashkent_admin
