What’s your rig’s CPU package minimum power consumption on HWInfo (when idle)? What processor are you using?
Just got a FormD T1 and studying whether to put in an Intel or AMD. Checking reviews and comments in forums, AMD is known for high idle power consumption. Sounds really inefficient to me, finding it hard to accept this by principle and leaning towards Intel. What’s the lowest idle power consumption a modern AMD CPU can achieve? And through what means (BIOS, Windows config, etc.)?

CH170 Build Help
Hello all.
After 7 years, my old PC is on its last legs and want to build a new one.
My key priorities are in order below:
1. Temperatures
* Lowest possible and main priority. I'd take the second best performing component if it greatly improves cooling
2. Gaming performance
* Think Cyberpunk in 4k at whatever the selected GPU and CPU allow.
3. Price
* Prices greatly fluctuate in my country when compared to the region but would want to stay under 1000€ for the parts i don't have
I wanted a vertical case that was small but still allowed for full air cooler height AND hides the cable connectors.
I have also managed to find a 9800X3D and a 5080 FE at a very good price and have a 8TB WD SN850X and a 2TB WD SN800 so I am sorted for storage.
After doing some research, the below is what I came up with:
|Component|Model|Gaming Temp Load|Price €|
|:-|:-|:-|:-|
|CPU|AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D|60-65|0|
|GPU|Nvidia 5080 FE|60-65|0|
|Case|DeepCool CH170 Digital|N/A|65|
|**Motherboard**|ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I||260|
|CPU Cooler|Noctua NH-D15 G2||120|
|RAM|Kingston DDR5 6000 MT/s CL30 (2×16 GB)||170|
|**PSU**|Corsair SF850L 850 W 80 PLUS Gold||170|
|Storage|WD SN850X 8 TB||0|
|Total Price|||\~800|
What are your thoughts on the Motherboard and PSU?
* Motherboard
I se a lot of information about AM5 CPUs breaking because of some Boards but it doesn't seem to be isolated to one brand/chipset so this concerns me.
I also have an external M2 that is TB4 and which I use with my MacBook Pro and would like to be able to use USB4 at least but there seems to be literally ONE model that supports this (Asus ROG Strix X670E-I) that is about 400€ which is too much.
Given my pursuit of best thermals, I want to be able to undervolt the CPU
* PSU
I am planning of upgrading my GPU at some point so wondering if getting a 1000W makes more sense here.
With future-proofing in mind, I want to go for SFF PSU in case my next GPU is bigger than the 5080 FE.
Any help, considerations or ideas are most welcome.
TIA
