Shardeum Incident Report 🔎

A recent network incident created ~ 500K $SHM as faulty staking reward.

After investigation, a bug in the cycle certificate validation was identified & necessary fixes were deployed in Validator v1.19.3.

Huge thanks to NoviceCrypto on our community Discord server for responsible reporting, which helped us monitor the discrepancy quickly. All of the SHM was voluntarily returned by the hacker, which will be permanently removed from circulation via token burn.
