Our team is actively working on restoring cycle production. We have identified a possible bug that may have caused the issue & are continuing to investigate.

More details will be shared as we confirm the findings.

🚨 Network Status Update #3: Investigation & Restore Progress

Our tech team has made progress in identifying the issue that halted cycle production.

❓ What we found

The network encountered an error during block creation because a special value (dao-hard-fork) was missing in the extraData field for blocks 1920000–1920009.

This requirement comes from the Ethereum DAO hard fork in 2016 (EIP-779). As Shardeum is a new, independent chain, we implemented this legacy check as part of maintaining EVM compatibility & this fix is now in place.

➡️ What we’re doing

We implemented the fix & successfully brought cycle production back in a restore attempt. However, we observed some issues that need to be addressed before we can safely bring the network back online.

Our team is refining the solution & will attempt another restore once we are confident that the network can be restored safely & reliably.

NOTE: Deposits & withdrawals on exchanges remain paused until cycle production is fully restored.
