An old yet clever piece of design β€” this hilltop bench was built in such a way that with a simple flip of the seat, you can choose to watch either the sunrise or the sunset. A timeless reminder that sometimes the simplest ideas bring the most beauty.πŸŒ„πŸŒ…πŸͺ‘

Some folks have asked in the comments what welder I am using. Here is a link to the little portable red welder you see in the pump house scene and the retaining wall scene. It has served me well for many projects due to its portability.

I installed a 30k gallon metal tank in my backyard so that I can run my entire house on rainwater. Often called a rainwater catchment or rainwater collection system; this has allowed me to avoid using city water and to catch free water from the sky instead. Think of it as a pool-sized rain barrel crammed into my backyard.

If you would like to contact the installer I used (Jeff Sergent) in the central Texas region you can find his contact info at : https://suburbanbiology.com

Healing Effects of Trees & Forests!

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20074458/

Benefits of Phytoncides on Humans

When humans breathe phytoncides in, they can support us in many ways inside the body.

β€’Immune response: a 2-hour walk in the forest increases NK cell activity that can last for days
β€’Anti-inflammatory: common forest terpenes temper inflammation and reduce oxidative stress
β€’Nervous system: forest air creates a relaxation response and lowers nervous system activity
β€’Mood enhancing: exposure to forest air reduces cortisol levels and Ξ²-pinene has antidepressive properties
β€’Sleep: phytoncides like Ξ±-pinene enhance sleep
β€’Blood glucose: exposure to VOCs can reduce blood glucose levels

Spending time in forests is so beneficial to our wellbeing. We always feel inspired, invigorated and elated after time in the forest. How about you?
