(Oriana Fallaci)

Buona serata anime belle 🤩

🇬🇧 Don't Look Back. You'll Lose.

I feel the World is trying to break me. Saying, "you're alone". "You're nothing". But I'm not looking for the crowd. I try to walk alone. I walk and walk. And when I look back I see others following me.

Sometimes I look at them — at other people. Their lives are meaningless. They don't understand why they live. They don't even know what life is.

This world strikes me again and again. "Be like everyone else" — it tells me. This is what I see around. This is what your world tells me. It is controlled.

But I know that there is no way back and I do not want it. Another round in the chamber. The clatter of the bolt. Unnecessary people were left somewhere back there.
Behind.

🇬🇧 Pol Pot, the Most Cruel, Ruthless and Bloodthirsty Tyrant of All Time
Part 1 of 2

Saloth Sar, better known as Pol Pot, was a Cambodian politician, military, genocidal and dictator and the main leader of the Khmer Rouge from the origin of these in the 1960s until his death in 1998, who annihilated 25% of the population of his country.

He was also the prime minister of Democratic Kampuchea, the official name of the Kingdom of Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge dictatorship, between 1975 and 1979.

The Khmer Rouge (Khmer Krahom in Cambodian) is the name by which the members of the Communist Party of Kampuchea were known who, after the Vietnam War, the departure of the United States and the overthrow of General Lon Nol (who ruled a military dictatorship since 1970), took power on April 17, 1975 (the "Fall of Phnom Penh").

They founded the Democratic Kampuchea; a system of government with communist and authoritarian characteristics that, under the formal appearance of a people's republic, consolidated in practice a system of radically agrarian economy, under the slogan of the evacuation of the cities and destruction of urban civilization and its culture, considered bourgeois, social reconstruction from the origins of civilization and the recovery of the ancestral Khmer culture under the direction of Pol Pot, its main leader.

In addition to an iron military control over the civilian population, largely subjected to a regime of forced labor, they developed extensive methods of detention, torture and selective mass killings, under the slogan of the so-called "search for the internal enemy".

Pol Pot was the forger of a Maoist-style state, a radical communist regent who imposed a "Year Zero" that resulted in the death of approximately 1.7 to 2.2 million Cambodians, about a quarter of the population of the time.

🇬🇧 Pol Pot, the Most Cruel, Ruthless and Bloodthirsty Tyrant of All Time
Part 2 of 2

Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge systematically persecuted and murdered intellectuals and anyone who, in any way, considered themselves educated, based on any kind of parameter, from their way of speaking to their dress.

Pot and the Khmer Rouge regime deliberately destroyed much of Cambodia's cultural heritage between 1975 and 1979. Their goal was to eradicate the history and culture of the country to create a new communist agrarian society, which they called "Year Zero".

The regime murdered professionals, teachers, doctors, lawyers and anyone associated with intellectual and urban life. People were being killed for the simple fact of wearing glasses, knowing a foreign language or being perceived as intellectual.

Schools, libraries and universities were closed and demolished. Books and documents that did not serve the party's propaganda were burned.

Under the leadership of Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia forced the population of all cities to march to the countryside to work on communal farms. The goal was to create a communist agrarian utopia, destroying all traces of the past and capitalism.

Millions of people were relocated to collective farms and forced to work in extreme conditions, with strenuous days and primitive tools. Hundreds of thousands died from starvation, disease and overwork.

Money, private property and religion were abolished. The families were separated and assigned to work brigades according to age and sex.

It is known that even the communist rulers of China and North Korea who interacted with Pol Por felt fear and awe at the brutality of his tyranny.
