Telegram supports two layers of secure encryption. Cloud Chats use server-client encryption while Secret Chats use an additional layer of client-client encryption. Recipients will get a notification as usual, but their device won’t make sound, even if it is in general mode. When you turn on that feature, the app automatically switches to dark mode.
