According to Nikkei, the SESC is set to be granted authority to investigate trades that profited from non-public information and, depending on the size of the gains, to recommend fines or file criminal complaints.
Insider trading bans have not applied to cryptocurrencies until now, and the FSA is preparing detailed proposals with the aim of amending the law in 2026.

On October 15, Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a net outflow of $104.1 million, while Ethereum ETFs saw a net inflow of $169.6 million. GBTC led the outflows, and ETHA led the inflows.
