One thing about September;
Life does not linger in the air.
You've everything to remember
—Every sense is a souvenir.
Life does not linger in the air.
You've everything to remember
—Every sense is a souvenir.
I cry like a summer cloud.
And when I am done
Crying like a summer cloud,
I'll be with those who
Cry like a summer cloud.
Now, these surely know how
To embrace rain and its cloud,
So together, we'll help those
Who yearn for a summer cloud.
And together, we'll watch earth
Embrace rain and its cloud,
And together we'll smile,
As does a summer cloud.

I would sleep like a tyke.
But tonight, I'm thirty one
& hugging my pillow tight.
I'm bleeding with a June
kind of longing; the type
of longing that is both
restive and tentative.
All the days are ventures,
and that is where
the nights are crafted.
I feel my presence,
like a war, to guess if
it will be over by dawn.
It will be over by dawn.
And I feel my absence,
like a war, to see if
I will survive myself.
I will survive myself.
I would sleep like a tyke,
to be blinded by the night;
I will watch the sun grade.
