Summer Travel = Rising Scams!
Travel Fraud Jumped 28% in 2025
As we rush to snag affordable travel deals, scammers are ready to take advantage of us.
Here are the most common scams to watch out for:
1. Fake Websites:
Some sites look just like popular ones like Airbnb. You might pay for a hotel, but it doesn’t actually exist! Always double-check the website address and use official apps.
2. Phishing Messages:
Watch out for messages like, "Your flight has been canceled," or "Your hotel booking didn’t go through." These often contain links to click on. Don’t do it! Instead, reach out to the airline or hotel directly to verify.
3. Fake Airport Wi-Fi:
Sometimes, scammers create free Wi-Fi networks at airports. If you connect, they can steal your information. It's best to avoid using public Wi-Fi for banking or making payments.
Stay vigilant and plan wisely to steer clear of these scams—not just when you’re traveling, but in your everyday life too!✅
