The Brief Period Of The Month Of Ramaḍān Is Priceless
Sh. 'Alī Ibn Yaḥyā al-Ḥaddādī حفظه الله إيمانه said:
"Certainly, the brief period of the month of Ramaḍān is too valuable to be squandered by engaging in acts that are mubāḥ [permissible: acceptable, such as sleeping, reading the newspapers etc.], which have no benefit and are pointless. Therefore, what about squandering it's virtuous days and it's blessed nights by engaging in that which Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ have made ḥarām?"

Dear Busy Moms!
Can't Read Much of The Qur'aan This Year? Don't Worry, Use What You Have!
As the days of Ramadhan pass, Umm Fulaan reflects on the time when she had no parental or marital obligations—when she was free and had more time for herself. In those days, she knew exactly where she would have reached in her tilaawah and Qiyam goals by now.
Do you sometimes feel like Umm Fulaan? Constantly reminiscing about the "freer" days—when little ones weren’t clinging to your legs, craving your constant attention, and when all the responsibilities of life didn’t seem to "get in the way" of the Ramadhan you once envisioned?
Ya Ukhti, be where you are, and seek Jannah with what you have. Let’s expand our understanding of worship (Ibaadah) and what it means to have a well-utilized Ramadhan.
"Ibaadah-fy" Everything You Do!
Whatever is in front of you, turn it into an act of worship!
• Feeding your kids? Set your intention to seek the rewards of Allah. In a hadith, it was mentioned that a sinful woman fed a dog and found the mercy of Allah. Feeding your child is not any less important.
• Cooking? Set the intention of pleasing Allah by being the one to prepare what others eat.
• Kids craving attention? Set your intention to please Allah by fulfiling the obligation Allah ﷻ has placed on you towards the kids.
• The little amount of Qur’an and Qiyam you can manage? Set a powerful intention and be very conscious of why you are doing it: to seek the pleasure of your Lord.
• Attending to your husband? Set the right intention of seeking the pleasure of Allah by fulfilling your duties to him.
Think like a multi-investor, diversifying your rewards by turning everything you do into a means of drawing closer to Allah.
I know you miss the uninterrupted moments of deep worship, but make do with what you have—with a cheerful heart. Allah is Ash-Shakur—The Most Appreciative.
When Asr time comes, you don’t wish it were Maghrib. You pray Asr because that is the Ibaadah right in front of you, in its proper time. So, see all that is in front of you, given to you by Allah, as multiple paths to His reward.
And remember, that fulfiling your obligations is more beloved to Allah than any superogatory deed. So taking care of the kids might weigh much more heavily on the scales infront of Allah than reciting the Quran.

In one of his writings, ibn al-Qayyim included the following report:
[قال علي بن المديني سألت عبد الله بن المبارك عن قوله تعالى : { فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا } قال عبد الله : من اراد النظر الى وجه خالقه فليعمل عملا صالحا ولا يخبر به أحدا]
'Ali ibn al-Madini said: I asked 'Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak about Allah's statement:
[فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا ]
"So whoever looks forward to meeting his Lord, then let Him do righteous good deeds." [al-Kahf 110]
and 'Abdullah said: Whoever wants to look at the Face of his Creator, then let him do righteous good deeds and not tell them to anyone.

Virtue of Saying Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi
🔹Forgiveness of Minor sins:
Narrated by Abū Huraira: Allāh's Messenger ﷺ said, "Whoever says, 'Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi - Allāh is free from imperfection and His is the praise,' one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea." Sahīh Bukhārī (no. 6405).
🔹Expression that is most loved by Allāh:
Abū Dharr reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said to me, “Shall I tell you the expression that is most loved by Allāh?” It is: "Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi - Allāh is free from imperfection and His is the praise." Sahīh Muslim (no. 2731).
🔹A palm-tree will be planted in Jannah:
Jābir reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, “For him who says: 'Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi - Allāh is free from imperfection and His is the praise,’ a palm-tree will be planted in Jannah.” Natā'ij Al-Afkār (1/104) of Hāfidh Ibn Hajr who graded it Hasan.
🔹Nothing better on the day of resurrection except one that says it more times:
Abū Huraira reported Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: "He who recites in the morning and in the evening (these words): Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi - Allāh is free from imperfection and His is the praise’ one hundred times, he would not bring on the Day of Resurrection anything excellent than this except one who utters these words or utters more than these words." Sahīh Muslim (no. 2692).
🚨Action Plan:
- Allocate a time to say Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi a hundred times minimum. It takes less then 5 mins and such a great reward.
- Dont end a day without reading it. Say it even when laying down to sleep if you haven’t in the daytime.
- Teach others to say it so you may also get the reward.

A Series of Reminders About The Month of Ramaḍān - No. 14
Indeed your month has begun to decrease, so you should increase in your (good) deeds (thinking) as if you’re at the end of it (or that the month has almost gone away)
and for every month there is a month as a successor after it (to rectify shortcomings), but as for the month of Ramadan, where do we have after it a month to replace (or make up for what was lost in) it?
[Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (rahimahullah), Lata’if al-Ma’arif, 237]

Fasting and Charity
Al-Imām ibn Rajab al-Hambali [may Allāh have mercy on him]:
“Combining fasting and charity entails entering Paradise.”
Latāif al-Ma’ārif | Page 167 | Al-Imām ibn Rajab al-Hambali [may Allāh have mercy on him]
🖋 Admin's Note:
"The Sadaqah need not be something very huge, our Beloved Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم has mentioned that protect yourself from the Fire of the Hell, even by giving "half a date" (meaning of a Hadith) which means even a small amount is enough as a Sadaqah! Verily Allaah SubhaanaHu wa Ta'ala Sees the Quality and not the Quantity."

✨Laylatul Qadr - A night better than 1000 Months ✨
PART 1️⃣
➡️The Blessed Night is Laylah al-Qadr, not the Middle of Sha’baan.
🎓al-Haafidh Abu’l-Fidaa’ Ismaa’eel ibn Kathir رحمه الله
➡️Allah opens surah al-Dukkhaan (44) by mentioning “a blessed night” during which He sent down the Qur’an. The majority of the salaf and prominent interpreters of the Qur’an have indicated that this blessed night is Laylah al-Qadr, while a minority have claimed that it is referring to the night of the middle of the month of Sha’baan.
➡️ Ibn Kathir رحمه الله explains this issue as follows :
Allah provided us with some information about the Magnificent Qur’an by saying,
Indeed, We sent it [the Qur’an] down during a blessed night [44:3]
and this is referring to Laylah al-Qadr, just as He said:
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
Indeed, We sent it down during Laylah al-Qadr [97:1]
And that takes places during the month of Ramadan, as Allah said:
شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ
The month of Ramadan in which the Qur’an was revealed [2:185]
And those who say that the “blessed night” is the night of the middle of Sha’baan – as has been transmitted from ‘Ikrimah – have certainly missed the mark, for the the Qur’an specifies that the “blessed night” is during Ramadan.
And the hadeeth which is narrated on the authority of ‘Abdullah ibn Saalih, on the authority of al-Layth, on the authority of ‘Aqeel ibn al-Zuhri that ‘Uthman ibn Muhammad ibn al-Mughirah ibn al-Akhnas informed him that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Death is decreed from one Sha’baan to the next, such that it takes effect even if a man were to get married and have a child while his name was among those who are going to die,” – this is a mursal hadeeth [i.e. its chain of narration stops at a taabi’ee and does not connect to the Prophet through a sahabi], and the textual sources are not overturned by the likes of such things.
📚[Tafsir ibn Kathir 7/246-247]

The Blessed Night is Laylah al-Qadr, not the Middle of Sha’baan

A Series of Reminders About The Month of Ramaḍān - No. 17
The One Who Has The Determination To Forsake Sinning In Ramaḍān Alone Has Not Fully Repented!
Sh. al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:
"The one who has the determination to forsake sinning in the month of Ramaḍān and no other month has not fully made tawbah (repentance). Rather, he has forsaken sinning in the month of Ramaḍān. He will be rewarded if he abandoned (sinning) for Allāh and by way of exalting the symbols of Allah (i.e. the month of Ramaḍān) and avoiding what He has made impermissible in that time, but he is not from those who has made tawbah and will be forgiven entirely."

✨Laylatul Qadr - A night better than 1000 Months ✨
PART 2️⃣
➡️The date of Laylatu’l-Qadr being unknown – “Perhaps that is better for you”: Ibn Kathir
🎓Imam al-Bukhari records in his Saheeh:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out to inform the people about the (date of the) Laylatu’l-Qadr, but a quarrel took place between two of the Muslim men. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I came out to inform you about (the date of) Laylatu’l-Qadr, but so-and-so and so-and-so quarreled, so its knowledge was taken away. And perhaps that is better for you. Search for it in the 7th, the 9th and the 5th (of the last 10 nights of Ramadan).”
[al-Bukhari #49]
➡️In his famous book of tafsir, al-haafidh Abu’l-Fidaa’ Ismaa’eel ibn Kathir comments on the phrase, ‘perhaps it was better for you‘ by writing:
And his statement, ‘perhaps it is better for you‘ – i.e., the lack of it being specified for you. For since it was left uncertain, those who seek it exert themselves, aspiring for it in all places of the month, hopeful of finding it.
📌So there is an increase in worship, in contrast to if its specific time were known, for then its significance would certainly lead to restricting the night prayers to it exclusively.
And the wisdom of its being left uncertain results in worship being spread throughout the entire month in pursuit of it, and that effort is increased even more so during the last ten nights.
