The Messenger of Allāh, صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّم, said:

“Iblees sets his throne upon water and sends out deachments to create discord. Those closest to him in rank are the most effective at sowing dissension. One of them reports, ‘I did such and such,’ to which Ibliees responds, ‘You have accomplished nothing.’ Then another comes and says, ‘I did not relent until I caused strife between a husband and wife.’ Iblees draws near to him and says, ‘You have done well. He then embraces him.’”

One big reason for divorce in modern society is individual selfishness.

When some people get married nowadays, what they really want is a husband or wife *as an accessory* and not as a real person with whom they will connect and compromise. They want someone who will just slide right into a spot in their already-set life, without having to do any work or make any real change.

This unrealistic expectation is especially common in the minds of women who have fallen prey to feminism.

The mentality that some women go into marriage with is: "I want a husband who is going to fit perfectly and seamlessly into my current lifestyle. I ain't gonna change for him!"

*(This expectation is not only self-centered, but utterly unrealistic.**

Marriage is a union between two separate people, a merging of two previously-disparate lives, two personality types, two sets of upbringing and thought patterns and habits.

No one will be able to perfectly conform to someone else's life from day one without hiccups, and to expect so is to have unreasonable expectations that are bound to fail.

The reality is: at the start of the marriage, both husband and wife need to learn about one another and the ways of the other person, some of which will be fun and easy to live with, and others which will be foreign and difficult to adjust to.

But adjusting to another and tolerating one another's idiosyncrasies is essential for making a marriage stable and successful.

Both spouses have to adjust for one another, improvise, compromise. Both. Husband AND wife.

But...

(and here's the part where the feminists will jump on me):

It is more the wife's duty to get on her husband's program.

Why?

Because in a traditional, Islamic marriage, the husband is the leader. Not only is he is the provider and protector, but he is also the head of the household and the leader of the family. He decides the trajectory of their joint lives, based not on his own selfish desires but on the collective interests of the family and the overall wellbeing of all its members.

The husband calls the shots and the wife supports him.

The husband leads and the wife follows.

He makes decisions, not unilaterally as a tyrant or dictator, but in consultation (shura, شورى ) with his wife and with God-consciousness (taqwa, تقوى), wisdom (حكمة), and foresight.

And his wife trusts him and respects him enough to step aside and allow him, supporting him with her love and confidence in him.

She neither tries to lead him, compete with him for headship, nor be his "equal partner."

In a marriage wherein the husband fears Allah regarding his wife and her rights and needs, and the wife fears Allah regarding her husband and trusts him to lead her and take care of her, this is how two disparate people get on the same page.

And this gentle deference of the wife is part of female nature, this voluntary yielding to legitimate competent male authority, this soft feminine surrender. This is what modern psychologists and researchers call "agreeableness." And agreeableness as a personality trait is naturally much higher in women than in men. It makes a marriage work harmoniously.

But under the toxic influence of feminism, some women will reject their nature and act disagreeable with the husband. They'll show defiance instead of deference. A mindset of confrontation instead of conformity.

And they certainly will have no desire to change for a husband. He is to be an accessory, an add-on to her own life, a good little pet who knows his place and willingly goes to sit in his corner.

But as Muslim wives who want a traditional marriage to a traditional husband, we know that this is where marriages go to die.

Ibn al-Jawzi (rahimahullah) said in his famous book, Sayd al-Khater

‏لأن أنفع نفسي وحدي، خير لي من أنفع غيري و أتضرر

That I benefit myself alone is better for me than benefiting others and being harmed (in my religion; losing yourself while lighting the path for others is not worth it).
Sometimes you swallow Sabr on your hardships, sometimes this sabr is for obeying the commandments of Allah, sometimes it is for controlling your nafs, whereas somewhere you need to be patient when someone hurts you brutally, and again you will be doing sabr when someone leaves you.

This is a life-long process dear. You will never get a leave from Sabr. Daily you have to put in effort, daily you have to wait for relief.

And in between we get mentally, emotionally, physically disturbed. Those suicidal thoughts , irritation, frustration and unsatisfied heart with unorganised mind full of tangle perspectives.

You want shoulder to cry on. You want support to discuss. You want company to enjoy. And you want to get rid of all these daily dealings. Right?

But no one is there!.
But we all know that like always this time too we will get relief from the Qur'an and Sunnah.

Allah says in Surah Zumar:36

أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِكَافٍ عَبْدَهُ ۖ
Is not Allah sufficient for His Servant?

It's such a profound aayat.
Pause and reflect.

Allah is sufficient for all of us for your every single tear, every single unbearable pain, every thing that you're suffering from.

Ask Allāh azzawajal whatever you want to ask.
Anything you want just grab the opportunity of Tahajjud.
I highly recommend you all to please pray Tahajjud and pour out your every single thought in Dua.

May Allah reward all of us for our struggling and grant us a mountain of sabr and istiqamah. Aameen

The one who does a lot of Dhikr (remembers Allaah a lot), with his heart [1], with his tongue [2], and with his limbs [3], it is hoped that it will be made easy for him to say: “Laa ilaaha illallaah” on his deathbed.

{Allaah keeps firm those who believe - with the firm word - in worldly life and in the Hereafter.} [4]

TAFSEER AL-MUYASSAR:
“Allaah strengthens those who believe with the true and firmly established statement, i.e., the testimony:
لا إله إلا الله ، محمدًا رسول الله
«None has the right to be worshiped except Allaah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah»

And what he (the Prophet ﷺ) brought of the true religion. Allaah strengthens them with it in this worldly life, and at the time of their death with a good ending, and in the grave when the two angels question them, Allaah guides them to the correct answer.” [5]

🌙THE FIRST TEN DAYS OF DHUL HIJJAH - SERIES 🌙

PART 1️⃣
✳️DAYS of VIRTUE
and RIGHTEOUS deeds.✳️

🎓Ibn Rajab Rahimahullaah, in his monumental work (al-Lataa’if,p.8) wrote,

"Praise be to Allaah Who has Created Time and Has made SOME times BETTER than others, some months and days and nights better than others, when REWARDS are MULTIPLIED many times, as a mercy towards His slaves. This encourages them to do MORE RIGHTEOUS deeds and makes them more EAGER to worship Him, so that the Muslim RENEWS his efforts to gain a greater share of reward, prepare himself for death and supply himself in readiness for the Day of Judgement.

This season of worship brings many benefits, such as the opportunity to CORRECT one’s FAULTS and make up for any SHORTCOMINGS or anything that one might have missed. Every one of these special occasions INVOLVES some kind of WORSHIP through which the slaves may draw CLOSER to ALLAAH, and some kind of blessing though which Allaah bestows His favour and mercy upon whomsoever He will. The HAPPY person is the one who makes the MOST of these SPECIAL months, DAYS and hours and draws nearer to his Lord during these times through acts of worship; he will most likely be TOUCHED by the BLESSING of Allaah and will feel the joy of knowing that he is SAFE from the FLAMES of Hell.

➡️One such season which is going to start soon in sha Allaah is the "First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah."

Dhul Hijjah is in the middle of the three Consecutive SACRED Months from the four about which Allaah SubhaanaHu wa Ta'ala said,
."أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ"

To be continued in sha Allaah.

Getting Acquainted with the Great Figures in the Qur'anic Sciences

One long term goal of ours is to create a trilogy of series:

1) Profiles of the books of tafsir & their authors

2) Profiles of the 10 famous reciters of the Qur'an & their transmitters

3) Profiles of the salaf known for tafsir

Learning about these amazing scholars helps us to connect with the richness of our Islamic heritage & expands our Islamic literacy.

🗹 Alhamdulillah, starting in 2016 we have completed more than 30 profiles of the famous books of tafsir:

A main source for this series was the landmark "al-Tafsir w'al-Mufassiroon"

☐ We hope to begin profiles of each of the ten reciters and their two transmitters this summer.

☐ Later, we hope to make a series on the salaf known for tafsir, relying on "Tafsir al-Salaf" by Dr. Khalid al-Wasil which profiles 12 sahabah, 22 tabi'oon, and 10 of the atba' al-tabi'een.

We ask Allah to aid us in these efforts & make them beneficial.

⭐️Virtues of the first Ten Days of Dhu’l-Hijjah - 1⃣⭐️

➡️The virtues of these first ten days of Dhul Hijjah have been stated in the Qur’aan as follows:

Allaah (The Most High) said

وَالفَجرِ وَلَيَالٍ عَشرٍ

By the dawn; By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah)
[Soorah al-Fajr: Ayah: 1-2]
📌Imaam Ibn katheer (rahimahullaah) said that the intended meaning behind this verse is the first ten days of Dhul-Hijja as stated by Ibn Abbaas, Ibn Zubayr, Mujaahid and other than them. And this has also been reported by Imaam Bukhaari.

Allaah (The Most High) also said,

وَيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَّعْلُومَاتٍ [الحج: 82]

And mention the Name of Allah on appointed days
Ibn Abbas said: They are the (first) ten days.

This is why it is recommended to increase in making takbeer (saying Allaahu akbar), tahleel (saying Laa ilaaha illallaah) and tamheed (saying Alhamdulillaah) during these days …”

🌙THE FIRST TEN DAYS OF DHUL HIJJAH- SERIES 🌙

PART 3️⃣

⭐️Virtues of the first Ten Days of Dhu’l-Hijjah - 2⃣⭐️

➡️The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are the best and most virtuous days of the year. They are the days in which Allaah the Mighty and Majestic – most loves the doing of good deeds.

🔹About this the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “The best days in the world are the ten days.”
📚[Saheeh: Related by al-Bazzaar (1/234). It was authenticated by Shaykh al-Albaanee in Saheehul-Jaami’ (no. 1133).]

🔹The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) also said, “There are no days that are greater with Allaah, and in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days. So increase in making tasbeeh (saying Subhaanallaah), tamheed, tahleel and takbeer, during them.”
📚[Saheeh: Related by at-Tabaraanee in al-Kabeer (3/110/1) It was authenticated by al-Mundharee in at-Targheeb wat-Tarheeb (2/24).]

🔹Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim (d.751H) – rahimahullaah – said about these Ten days,

“Indeed, its days are the most excellent of all the days with Allaah. And it has been confirmed in Saheehul-Bukhaaree (2/382), from Ibn ’Abbaas (radiyallaahu ’anhumaa) who said, that Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “There ore no days during which good deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these (ten) days.” He was then asked, ‘Not even jihaad in the path of Allaah?’ So he replied, “Not even jihaad in the path of Allaah, except for a person who goes out with his self and his wealth, and comes back with nothing.”
📚[Refer to Zaadul-Ma’aad (1/56).]

🔹To be continued in sha Allaah with the good deeds one can perform in these Blessed days, bi'iznillaah.
