Anyway if you use Arch Linux right now and wanted to have those juicy & proper SteamOS interface meanwhile not wanting to install SteamOS, just do these instead:

install aur/gamescope-session-git & aur/steam-gamepadui-session-git, and also install gamescope on the Arch Linux repo. Then the session will be available on your installed Display/Login Manager.

if it does not work then use aur/gamescope-plus, with OpenVR compile options being disabled (i set this thing disabled because gamescope requires OpenVR version 2.7 and the arch linux repo only have version 2.5, and at the same time OpenVR repo is big asf)
