Google begins phasing out "legacy" mode in the Play Integrity API today, May 21, 2025, as previously announced

From now on, devices running Android 13 or higher must use hardware-backed integrity checks, such as Android Platform Key Attestation to meet the "strong integrity" standard. This change is aimed at strengthening the Android ecosystem’s security, making it harder to bypass app protections, especially in sensitive areas like payments and online gaming.

However, older devices and those running custom ROMs may face limitations due to the stricter requirements.
Full deprecation of legacy mode is set for August 31, 2027, giving developers time to update their apps to comply with the new standards.

YouTube puts double-tap to skip behind Premium paywall

The classic gesture to fast-forward through videos will now be exclusive to YouTube Premium subscribers. What used to be free is becoming a paid feature. To keep using the “double tap to skip” in videos, you'll need to pay for YouTube Premium. The image shows the message in Portuguese, but the post sums it up.

Direct Messages come to channels: connect privately with creators

You can now send direct messages to channels and chat privately with creators and admins. Channel owners can enable this feature in settings and even set a fee per message to keep conversations focused and meaningful. Subscriber messages appear in a separate inbox, keeping personal chats organized. To start a conversation, just tap the message icon on the channel page.

I created this exteraGram Plugin for Spotify | It lets you share whatever you're currently listening to in any chat, group, or channel

It’s super easy to set up and use. Just run the .help command to learn how to get nowFy working. Once everything’s set up and you’re already listening on Spotify, the .now command will post your current track in real time, also highlighting the playback time along with the song.

Note: You must have exteraGram installed for the plugin to work.
