The future is near: ESA is developing an interstellar ship
The European Space Agency is planning to create a spacecraft capable of flying for 250 years and accommodating up to 1,000 people. Scientists and engineers will live and work on board, passing on knowledge to future generations. The key requirements are artificial gravity, a stable atmosphere, and the goal of a distant planet with an artificial ecosystem. A competition for the best project is currently underway.
