Economic Survey Data Points (Part I)
- The Indian economy will need to grow at the rate of around 8 per cent at constant prices, on an average, for about a decade or two, to achieve its stated goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
- To achieve this growth, the investment rate must rise to approximately 35 per cent of GDP, up from the current 31 per cent.
- India ranks 7th in global services exports, showcasing sectoral strength.
- GNPAs at a 12-year low (2.6%), with improved asset quality and strong capital buffers.
- India ranks 2nd globally in ‘Telecommunications, Computer & Information Services’ exports (10.2% market share).
- FOREX reserves at USD 640.3 billion (Dec 2024), covering 10.9 months of imports.

Munshi-Ayyangar Formula
The Munshi-Ayyangar Formula was a compromise in the Constituent Assembly to resolve the official language debate. It proposed:
- Hindi in Devanagari as India's official language (Article 343).
- English to continue for 15 years (till 1965) for official purposes.
- Parliament review after 15 years on English usage.
- States’ choice for their official languages.
- Use of international numerals (1, 2, 3, etc.).
- Due to anti-Hindi agitations, the Official Languages Act, 1963, allowed English to continue indefinitely alongside Hindi. This formula helped maintain linguistic harmony.
