10:30pm Press Conference:

Police believe there was only ONE shooter in the Idaho incident, and they tracked him down using cell phone pings

Authorities DID exchange gunfire with him, but cannot confirm how he died.

Two firefighters lost their lives, one is critical and in surgery.

Snipers were in helicopters, and FBI helped to geolocate the suspect, per the Sheriff.

Sheriff: "There were officers on scene trying to make sense of what was occurring. During this time, we exchanged gunfire with the suspect. We also received information from the White House, from Kash Patel, the FBI, Governor Brad Little, and Representative Raul Labrador that anything we needed, they would absolutely respond. We had many assets come into the command post. At about 6:30 PM, we had a briefing at the command post, where we updated the agencies that this was still an active shooter situation and that he needed to be neutralized as quickly as possible. At approximately 7:40 PM, we had information about a cell phone activation in the same spot since about 3:16 PM. It was in the same area, and we honed in on that cell phone, confirming there was a male, appearing to be deceased, with a weapon nearby. We currently have one dead shooter. Based on our preliminary investigation, the fire was rapidly approaching the body, so we had to recover and transport it to a different location. We believe there was only one shooter on that mountain, and there is no threat to the community at this time."

BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL PASSES SENATE IN 51 TO 50 VOTE WITH JD VANCE BREAKING TIE
The three Republicans who voted against the bill were Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Rand Paul (R-KY).

Last week, a number of provisions were removed from the bill after Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough determined that the portions of the legislation did not follow the "Byrd Rule," a legislative rule involved in the budget reconciliation process to remove provisions the parliamentarian says cannot be passed with a simple majority vote. Some of those provisions involved reforms to Medicaid, the blocking of federal funds from going to sex change operations for children, as well as many others.

She also removed a tax exemption for religious schools' endowments, as well as a measure that would have deregulated gun silencers and some concealed firearms.
