GUJARAT has a lot of vavs or stepwells for we think water scarcity has always been a problem here. Usually step wells were created to conserve water. In olden times Adalaj is a prime example of how conservation of water with great aesthetics was done back then.

These are from the Sri Varamoortheeswarar Temple in India. Of course, I know the question on everyone's mind. How did they see this, what technology did they use. Apparently, this temple is thousands of years old.

The Kailash Temple at Ellora
It is a remarkable rock-cut structure dedicated to Lord Shiva. Carved out of a single monolithic rock, it stands as a stunning example of ancient Indian architectural and sculptural mastery. The temple, built in the 8th century, features intricate carvings, depicting various deities, and symbols. Its creation involved sculptors removing rock to craft a temple complex resembling Mount Kailash, the sacred abode of Lord Shiva. The Kailash Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a testament to the artistic achievements of ancient Indian civilization.
