Menal, around 65 km from Bundi, Rajasthan, was once known as Mahanala, famous for ancient temples, waterfalls, and lush green forests.

Built in the 11th century by Someshvar Chahamana and Queen Suhavadevi, the temple complex features Siva temples on both sides of a waterfall. King Prithviraj Chauhan favored it as a summer retreat, even constructing a palace nearby.

The Mahanaleshvara temple, a prime example of western Indian stone temple architecture, boasts intricate carvings of Hindu deities and motifs.

Though some parts have weathered, the site remains a testament to ancient craftsmanship and natural beauty.
