Look what I got, a tonygotchi! You have to feed him, take him for therapy, and take him to the pool to swim with the ducks. So sick

Manchester’s Magnificent ‘Peveril of the Peak’ Pub - 127 Great Bridgewater St, #Manchester, #M1 🍻
The Pevril Of The Peak (1820) is an 'Arts and Crafts' grade II listed masterpiece that was a comforting and neccesery respite during Manchester’s industrial age. When I visit Manchester, I tend to head straight for this little gem where I fall in love with it all over again. Today, the pub boasts a welcoming atmosphere and a reassuring escape from the world outside. ⏳️

Britain's pubs are like people in the way that each individual building has its own stories, character, and memories.

It's rare that you'll see real cannons being used as bollards these days, but if I was to lay money on it, I'd bet these two on Cobb Street, #E1 are the real deal. For context, Cannons taken from the Napoleonic Wars were used as road bollards and for tying up boats on docks. Since then, we've seen many symbolic imitations, (thus the ball shape at the top of modern bollards to represent a cannonball stuck in a cannon) but if you keep your eyes peeled, you'll find some real ones now and then.

1971 - "This is all artificial.. I don't feel like I'm going home anymore I always feel I'm just there temporarily"
A London Lady discusses Londoners being forced into flats which felt void of character and life during the 70s. The Doddington and Rollo Estate is a massive post-war council housing development in #Battersea, #London, built between 1967-1971 by Wandsworth Borough Council and architects Emberton, Tardrew & Partners. Now it's a yuppie space and even it's pubs have become a joke.
