You can customize folders the way you want, plus there are some additional features. For example, you can have all chats with unread messages automatically added to a folder. Possibly the biggest disadvantage Telegram has over more popular messages is simply that: popularity. Despite its hundreds of millions of fans, Telegram is still leagues behind WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and WeChat in active monthly users.

We all have that one person that annoys us by sending too many forwarded messages. Well, Telegram makes it really easy to silence such a contact. Just open the chat and tap on the profile photo of the contact. To mute a chat in Telegram, head over to the chat in question. Next, tap the name at the top and then hit the mute button.
